Wallets, Purses, and Lanyards.. what to bring?

It would seem like this new strict attitude would cause the locker areas to get even more crowded. I hope to get a locker at the front to stash our phones and car keys but I intend to carry my wallet. It's very small and I'll put it away somehow.

We won't be riding hulk etc but is a Kipling waist pack acceptable on the other rides? I hate those lockers with a vengeance and would prefer to keep my phone etc on me. Second question, we are staying at Cabana Bay, our first stay on property. Can we charge to the room so do a day with just passes and room keys in a lanyard?

I find it quicker to just squeeze through to the very back of locker areas. Everyone clumps up front, not knowing there are more, so I've experienced shorter lines at the kiosks when you go all the way to the back.

Except for Hulk and RRR, if your Kipling has a 3 prong clip it should be fine.

Yes you can set up room charging (they do put a daily hold, which in my experience at the deluxes takes a few days after checkout to drop off, so make sure you have a nice free amount on your CC) so you can just bring ID, room key, a bit of cash if you'd like, passes...(I bring insurance card just in case). Or you could put your CC in there, too.

I use a Witz hard plastic waterproof lanyard case on my Ravenclaw tie-style lanyard, and it carries all those things. This one: http://www.amazon.com/Witz-See-It-Safe-Clear-Yellow/dp/B001P4DL8I/ref=pd_bxgy_p_text_y

Yep, we use lanyards and have EP facing out ready to be scanned.......it's ideal for room keys, park tickets and EP..........

We always tucked our lanyards into our tops on these rides........I take it that's still acceptable on RRR and Hulk?

It was when I rode this week

I have not heard or found in writing the new policy against phones etc. Does anyone know where to find it?

Also - don’t we need our phones in the parks to add or change fast Passes?

Thanks for any answers to help!

You are allowed to take your phone into the park, but you cannot take it on certain rides.

You will not need your phone to add or change Fast Pass (or Express Pass as they are called at Universal). At Universal Orlando, if you have Express Pass, all you need is the card or your room key (if you are staying at a hotel where Express Pass is included). Unlike Disney, were Fast Pass is a reserved time slot that can be changed, at Universal there are no advance reservations for rides. With Express Pass, you will be standing in a shorter line that moves faster.

Posted to the wrong thread?

Oops! I certainly misunderstood. I did not realize that it was Universal and not Disney!

Gotta go wake up my brain! Thanks for your help!

I was thinking of wearing a running belt, 3 prong and light weight. I can easily fit phone, cash and room keys in it. Will this be permitted on a ride?
In I also have a cross body Kavu that used last trip. Its bigger but more like a flat back pack, I stashed it in lockers when needed for a ride. Kids are 11/13 this trip, they don't need much to tote around. Rain poncho was my only concern, I may be able to fit one in belt for myself and tell kids to suck it up :rotfl:

The three prong is allowed on all rides except Hulk and RRR which doesn't allow anything except lanyards....

Looking into a running belt, as I will either need my phone or my small camera. In regards to the water rides will water resistant be fine or would it need to be water proof?

Vicki, I’d get water proof as those rides especially Bilge Barge absolutely drench you.......that one, the water can fall right on top of you and it is a deluge........

JP varies so much with how wet you get, but I’d prefer not to risk my phone or camera........:thumbsup2

Thanks, for the quick reply. Funny, I used the word deluge earlier and my youngest thought I made the word up.

I carry a zip lock baggie in my crossbody or string backpack to put phone in for water rides.

Great thread. For me I see no way out of having to use lockers, as I want my phone with me for taking photos, and staying in touch with my party in case someone doesn’t want to ride something and does something else instead. And I’ll probably have the refillable mug with me.

Does anyone know, do you get a lanyard included with your AP? I’ve seen so many pics posted of people with the blue AP lanyards.
