Has anyone seen Wall-E at the theatre? What is your review? We were thinking of taking DD6 and DD4 this weekend.

We saw it today, and while I liked it, it was not rolling on the floor funny. You might want to be aware that there is not a whole lot of talking in this movie. My 7yr old niece liked it, but her 13 yr old sister was bored.

We just saw it this afternoon. DD (4) loved it. I thought it was just okay. There isn't a lot of talking but the two robots are very expressive without words.

I saw it with my family. Some liked, some not so much. I was sort of drifting off to sleep during it. The lack of talking during the movie made it kind of boring for me. IMO...not one of Pixar's best.

I thought it was okay. My 6 year and 4 year old absolutely adored it. It might have been because we saw it at a Drive In (their first time at one) but I don't think so. They seemed to simply love it and keep talking about Wall-E ever since. I even got them Wall-E coloring books a few days later because they were still talking about Wall-E.

I saw it with my 9 year old son and 7 year old daughter and while they said they liked it, I agree with earlier post that it not really a "funny" movie. The computer work is amazing as always with Pixar but I found some of the themes of the movie to be kind of dark and depressing. :confused3 The love story was cute - but not enough to make it one of their best.

Anyone remember the movie Short Circuit from the 80s? Doesnt WallE resemble Johnny 5? through the eyes anyway :rotfl2:

I thought it was a computer generated Johnny 5 (thought that they were updating him since they have with everything else from the 80's) the first time I saw the preview for Wall E - :lmao: :lmao:

We saw it last weekend. My kids liked it quite a bit and were interested the whole time. It's a pretty sweet love story, not Pixar's greatest, but OK. But the "short" is probably my favorite they've ever done!!

We saw it today. My sons are 10 and 8 and they loved it. They got the whole concept of the movie but, my friend's daughter that was with us didn't.
My four year old liked it but, it did not hold her attention for the entire movie. This is the same child who was in awe of Indiana Jones though.;)
I am glad we saw it. I wouldn't say it was Pixar's best but, it was good.

The magician short in the beginning was a huge hit with us all. I totally agree with TexasBee on that one!:thumbsup2

We all loved it!! I was worried, because I'd heard there wasn't much dialog for most of the movie, but it didn't even matter! All three of my kids loved it too! (ages 16, 10 and 5) My husband liked it too. My girls immediately asked when we could go see it again!

Thanks for the input. I think we are going to go today. I'll let you know what we think. What better way to celebrate the 4th than to see a Disney movie at the theatre?

We took the kids to see it the other day and really liked it. BUT ...we have 3 different books we have been reading the last month or so, and I believe that gave us a good background on what was going on. (Lots of people have mentioned the lack of talking.) One of our books went into detail about all the broken robots in the repair center and both kids enjoyed seeming them in action.

We liked it and would recommend it. (Plus DD recalled earning one of her patches with the Daisy Girl Scout troop this year and environmental issues and taking care of Mother Earth. Some educational elements sprinkled into entertainment never hurt anyone! :hippie: )

We LOVED that short at the beginning ... a great start before the show!

We took our boys, 7 and 11, to see it the other day and they loved it! My dh and I thought it was just OK. The colors were seemed so drab and dark. I like bright, lively movies

We just got back. My dd6, dh, and I all liked it. DD4 cried. She was fine until it got dark and the other robots were looking for them toward the end. I ended up taking her out of the theatre for a couple min. When we returned she fell asleep for the last part of the show. I did like the message but not sure if I'll buy the DVD.

We took DS12 today (1st. movie at the theatre for DH and I in 3 years). We enjoyed the movie. It was definetely a movie to make you think about society as a whole. Now I don't think little ones will get that. They would enjoy Wall-E moving around and such, but not for the 2 hours we were there. Now on the other hand, on the way out DS12 said that the movie summed up a lot of what they are learning in school. Societies total lack of "movement" whether it be physical and or mental. He even said that a lot of his friends are guilty of this already. I am glad he got the "problem with the world" part of this movie.
