Walking to park from Sheraton Studio City...possible?

OK, I know it's possible to walk from Sheraton Studio City to Universal, but is it reasonable? The husband & I don't mind walking...on vacation we walk a dozen miles a day...I'm more concerned with navigating the highway. Any input?

If you walk a dozen miles a day then the walk from SSC should be reasonable. The walk goes over a grade separated interchange with I-4. There are only 3 conflict points with traffic and 2 are signal controlled. The third is a right turn lane into Universal. It is one of the safest routes for off site hotels.

My issue would be leaving the park(s) exhausted and to find yourself having to walk the same distance back to the hotel.

We just returned from staying a few days at the Homewood Suites on American Way which from what I see on the map is in this vicinity. Is Sheraton Studio City the one with the big sphere on top? We were able to walk on sidewalks the entire way, unless we took the shortcut onto Hollywood Way. (we discovered it the day before we checked out) If you take that, then you need to cross Universal Blvd and be very careful doing so. It takes you to a path that Royal Pacific Resort guests use to get to CityWalk. You come out with Margaritaville on your right and the whole walk takes about 7 or 8 min.s less than walking the entire way up Universal Blvd. to the escalators near the main entrance. If you walk that route it will take you about 20 min.s We did it for most of the time and never really minded it. Me, Husband and 2 sons.

Reviving this thread. Has anyone done this lately? Planning on spending a few days and New Years Eve here. Would like to not have to worry about driving (especially on NYE) What is your opinion of Studio City?
