Hi,

We are heading home for the first time to BCV for President's week. We have PS for the Princess Storybook Breakfast at 8:40 am in the Norway Pavillion with our 3yo DD. Is it close enough to walk, or should we plan on getting there another way? Thanks!

It's close enough to walk - in fact, it's closer to walk than to walk out to the boat dock (in front of the YC), take the boat to the IG and then walk to Norway. The BCV are very close to the IG entrance of EPCOT.

You may want to consider bringing or renting a stroller for your DD, though. BCV to Norway is a long walk for little legs - but then most everything at WDW is.

Enjoy the breakfast!

The International Gateway entrance brings you in roughly between UK and France. Norway is pretty much directly on the other side of the lake -- I'm not sure whether it would make any difference to go clockwise or counterclockwise to get there. Be sure to allow time to get there -- I'd say at least a half-hour unless you plan to walk very briskly.

I think it is closer to walk by the UK/Canada side - also Epcot WS is closed until 11am so I think that is the only way that will be open (the side towards France et al. is roped off)

thanks

I would do as PamOKW suggested and give yourself 30 minutes. We have been a few times to that Breakfast and made it there once in about 18 minutes when we were running late, but we had to hussle. It is really a nice walk in the morning because there is not that many people around yet, so I would give yourself 30 minutes and just take your time and enjoy the walk.

You may have noticed that everyone mentioned the word WALK. That's your only way of getting to the breakfast, so bring your stroller, and your walking shoes. I, too, would go by way of the UK, and allow a 1/2 hour for your walk, so you can take your time instead of having to hussle.

Is everyone sure that the International Gateway entrance is open that early? I would call and check to be sure. I'm wondering if it doesn't open until the World Showcase opens later.

The Intl Gateway opens when Epcot opens (so if Epcot FW opens at 0900 so does the IG). Until WS is open, you can only go by the UK/Canada side to get to FW or the Norway breakfast.

If your PS is earlier than Epcot FW opens then you need your PS# and you will be let in

thanks

the entrance at the Gateway is open before World Showcase...i stay at the bw and always go by way of the Gateway....from the beach club is no more than 15 minute walk at a leisurely pace...my wife did the same breakfast from the bw...and by the way she amy kids loved it...i played golf..

I would guess the distance is less than a half of mile- maybe closer to a third of a mile--the entire circumference of WS lagoon is one mile.

Plus with World Showcase empty it is a great time to take pictures. :teeth:

The International Gateway will be open. The World Showcase will not be. That would be the long way around anyway. You will walk to the left of the international gateway path, through Britain and Canada (the pavilions themselves will be closed, but guests entering from the IG can walk through the main thorougfare to access Future World), walk across the plaza at the Future World side of the World Showcase lagoon (the one with the two shops right next to the lagoon), and enter on the side near Mexico where they'll let you walk through to Norway for breakfast. Bring a printout of your PS (BCV will print one out for you) in case you need to show it to get into the World Showcase on the Mexico/Norway side.

Your PS time is actually prior to Future World opening, so you may have to show your PS number to the CMS at the International Gateway, too.

Last January before WS opened there was a CM at the IG directing folks to the UK side then there was CM checking PS names at the FW entrance to WS. If your name was not in the list you were not admitted. This Nov we were again directed to the UK side but we walked directly to Norway. There was a rope at Norway blocking the way beyond. At 11 am the rope came down.

I would plan on being at the International Gateway no later than 8:20. You want to be at least 5 minutes early for your PS, and there may be a small delay being admitted. If you are fast walkers with a stroller then 8:25 would be OK. At least you won't have to fight your way through people lined up for park entrance; that can be a problem if you try to enter around 8:50!
