Walkers Wanna Compare Notes??

Nepatsfan: (BTW, what is your real name?) Very clever....I love it! Told hubby about it and even he loves it. I was thinking of how one could put a spin on the little green men thingy and you did it perfectly.

My real name is Bill. So as not to be confused with WISH-veteran wfloyd (also Bill), most refer to me as patsBill, nepatsBill, etc. (I've been called lots of things during my life and can usually figure out when people are referring to me.)

As to my potential BGM sub-WISH sleeve adornment idea, a very gracious DISer has already been playing with and sent me some sample design work. I'll submit it for approval once it is considered close to finalized and give the DISer full credit then (if they dare accept it).

Does anyone know if I need to receive permission from any powers that be to slightly customize my shirt? It is being done in black to match the shirt graphics. I know the NFL and MLB get upset when individual players do this. As a rookie, I don't want to be breaking any team rules. (The term "rules" is being used loosely based on information I've gathered to date about this team.)

BGMBill, I hope there isn't any rules. Erica and I put our names on the back of ours. That's so we don't get confused about who we were, are, is something like that.

Do you also wear them backwards so you can see who you are or do you and Erica switch drafting positions so the person in back can tell the person in front who they are?:confused3

(OK, I need to get back to work.)

Pat & jeanneg: Are your husbands Disney fans? If so, maybe we could commission one of the DIS creative shirt designers to make us a special iron-on for our WISH shirts. I am thinking something for the sleeve. My initial thought, in honor of Buzz (who also wears some lime green), is that we could be the BGMs (Big Green Men), with the motto "To 13.1 Miles and Beyond."

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Actually DH is more of a Vegas guy, but he graciously humors my WDW obsession. And he does enjoy our vacations there. He just doesn't quite enjoy the planning stage as much as I do! All he wants to do is show up and go with the flow! Which works out nice since I love to have a plan for every day, even if we don't follow it at all!!

I love the BGM logo!

Good morning everyone. I'm still trying to decide on what kind of workout to do and it's time to head out the door.

Here is a link to some video and pictures so when you get bored at work today you can take a look. There is a lot style allowance with walking races so take a look. Watching the videos kinda helps with seeing what's involved with walk races, or walking your races.

Walk strong today everyone.

Dave:hippie:

Is it just me or are there no videos?

Dave I was counting on you.............

It was so darn hot last night I did 4.5 miles on the TM. I actually enjoyed it too. My night off tonight and tomorrow we have a 5K road race. Most of my group will be powerwalking - including me.

Have a good day all.

Ditto for my husband as well. He loves our Disney vacations but never plans a thing. Basically, he gets up in the morning and asks what the agenda for the day is.

We did a brisk 2.34 mile walk last night. It was 99 here yesterday (and going to be over 100 today) so we didn't want to overdo it especially after the weekend fiasco. I found that if I let John wear the Garmin he is much more likely to pick up the pace than if I use it. At any moment he can look down and see how he's doing and I think it motivates him to push it up a notch. He had an overall pace of 15:20 last night which was good, because it was pretty brutal out there. Our goal is to get in a couple of short walks during the week and then a long one over the weekend.

Dave--- Has the heat gotten to you that you forgot to post the link for the videos? I am going to have to check out the vitamin shop to see if they have those electrolyte pills.

Jeanne--- Glad that you didn't try to kill John again with a forced march. Give a man a gadget and it will motivate them to do anything. I will call today for the Germany reservation for that Friday. Next time there is a promotion for h2o products let me know. I do so love the shampoo. I don't know about the bike shorts, I have alot of trouble getting the sports bra off after a work out and to struggle with bike shorts at a potty break at a port a potty isn't a pleasant thought. However, it may make me look slimmer so that could be a upside.

WDWFAN9--- My DH doesn't plan any of our vacations either but enjoys going on them. My husband is like Jeanne's I have to tell him each day what we are doing. He can't even remember his own tee times.

Denise---I just started to use the Body Glide and haven't been bothered with the chub rub so far.

Kim---You are having a busy August. Hope you can get some training done with that schedule.

Monday--- 4.25 miles TM
Tues--- Pump Class
Tonight will be another 4 miles on TM and Stretch class. It is so oppressive outside already at 7am there is no way I am walking outside.

Stay cool everyone.

Nancy

Yes sweet ladies Dave is a moron. But hey give me a break I had just woke up when I posted that. I was still getting my first cup of coffee in me.

Remember at my age you don't say "what a dumb bunny", you say, "poor thing he can't help it".

Anyway here is the darn link.

I did a warm 4 miles this morning on the hills. It was hot and humid. Even keeping it to a comfortable 13 mpm I was feeling it by 3.5 miles at the top of the last long hill. Fortunately the last half mile is flat. When I got back I stripped off my sweaty stuff, changed into swim suit and played in the pool for about a half hour to cool down.

My upper body routine is to play in the pool. I do lots of the motions you would do when lifting weights using the water for resistance. It's amazing how good a work out you can give your muscles when they are tired like that. It kinda acts as a stretching out also. I always feel more relaxed after a pool cool down.

My family is just the opposite. I do all the WDW planning -- polling of kids, ADRs, what parks on what days, ride order strategies, etc. My wife gives me a hard time about my binder, spreadsheets and other planning tools. Once there though, she is usually happy about the minimal waits and how things (appear) to go smoothly. Other than my "relentless" insistance that we be at parks for opening (or pre-opening with breakfast ADRs), she goes with it and is pretty happy when we talk to other guests who explain their nightmare days and long waits for rides.

Do you think maybe we could divorce our respective spouses and you could marry me? :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao: I love to be at the parks for dropline, but can never get the others out of bed because it's their vacation and they want to sleep! Aaaaaaarrrrrgggghhhhh!

Our day starts with me dragging Erica kicking and screaming out of bed for our hour of brisk walking. Then Showering and a relaxed breakfast. We Usually head over to epcot and get our fast pass for soaring and then wander the park for a while, usually doing a few rides and enjoying the Under the Sea stuff and then the Mission space, I do the Wuss and Erica the full blown Mission Space. Then it's about time for Soaring so we do it and then lunch at the Electric Umbrella. Erica thinks I'm nutty but I love to play with the birds with the fries. If you throw a fry way out there in the park it looks like a flashback from "The Birds" movie as all the birds chase after it.

That is an average morning for us, we always get the park hopper so we can just wander every where. We end the evenings with a fireworks display every night. The Epcot is best because we can just walk home.

Sorry, but this is not an option. Really, its not you ... its me. Can we be friends though.

Plus, I have already made clear to my wife that if for any reason she were no longer with me, I would never marry again. (At least she used to think I said this because I love her so much:love2: , but she is now realizing (incorrectly(?)) that it means I would never marry anyone). ;)

Rejected......again.:sad1: I guess we can still be friends.....:sad2:

My DH likes Disney but he is not fully obsessed like I am, but he is a good sport and plays along.

Whenever I complain that he doesn't help me with the planning of any of our vacations, he says well that is because you like doing this stuff.... and he is right, I think I enjoy the planning jsut as much as the vacations.

He just says tell me what days I need to book off work. He doesn't even ask what this is going to cost "us" anymore:lmao:

Kim

Kim--- I gave up along time ago giving the cost information to my DH. He doesn't ask and I don't tell.

Jeanne--- Made the ADR for Friday night in Germany. If anyone else is interested just pm me and I can add you to our reservation.

I no longer do a forced march to the parks anymore. In fact my husband comments do you think we can leave the resort before 11am. I get up, usually do a walk, lounge around on the patio, and watch a little TV. We seldom get to the parks until the afternoon, but then we stay until park closes. However, when the young adults are with us, we are at the parks long before they show up.

I always say I'm going to take it nice and easy, but once I get there I can't help myself. It's a sickness, I know!

Yes, please join us in Germany before (or after) the Village People concert. Since those tables are so large we might have to - heavens forbid - sit with strangers! (I say this in jest because when my kids were little, dining with people we didn't know always freaked them out.)
