Just had to share ...

I walked my 1st 1/2 Marathon in December (West Palm Beach) my time was 3:25:54 and yesterday walked my second (1/2 Shell 1/2 Marathon, Key West) and I was the only walker. My time was..... drum roll please.....
3:11:38!!!!! :cool1:

I'm going to register today for WDW Marathon. I can do it!

OH YES! YOU CAN SO DO IT!
A big congrats on your PR. You will be flying at WDW b/c it is such a FUN race.

My son and I are thinking of doing the 1/2 Marathon next year. Can you really WALK this thing? Is that allowed?

kwnancy- great job on the PR!!! Of course you can do the WDW marathon!!!

denise-of course you can walk. There is a minimum pace you must keep, but many people walk, as you will find from reading these boards.

Wahoooo Congrats to you!!!!

And of course you could do the fulll......you rock!!!!

Kim

Thanks to all! And for those thinking of it - if I can do it, so can YOU!!

I have walked the Goofy the last 2 years:

2006 3:05 & 6:32 Freezing(and went out too hard for the 1/2)
2007 3:21 & 6:58 Hot!(went slow for 1/2 on purpose, wife hurt foot last 10 miles of the full and could hardly run/walk at all) Still can't walk normally 4 weeks later!

My goals for 08 are 3:20 & 6:45 leaving plenty of time to make the cuts. If I remember correctly you don't get cut after mile 10 & mile 20 per each race respectively.

Before having both Achilles operated on(and loss of all my speed and training ability), I walked the 1996 WDW Marathon in 5:09:banana:

Congrats to you! I'm so glad you've signed up to do the half in January too! You will have a great time!

WOW! I think deep, deep in my heart I want to do this some year.

Has anyone ever done the Portland Marathon? Early October in Oregon? I'm getting excited about this one as well.

I did Portland for 6 straight years(92-97). 1992 Portland was my first marathon. Great course and support. It just seems like yesterday! Except all the other 80+ marathons/Ultramarathons I did after it.:)

You will enjoy it!

kwnancy and family...yes you can do this!!!!

I walked the WDW marathon this past yr and I am already signed up to walk the Goofy in '08!!

Congratulations on the improving times!!

Erica:)
