What is the likelihood that I could get a table for either 6 or 9 at Sci-fi around 4:30 when they open for dinner as a walk-up?

When are you going? Anytime we have been to Sci Fi - we are usually there during busy times - we never saw anyone walk up and get a table. They turn the people away. But maybe if you are going when it isn't busy - but I don't have experience with that. You can keep trying for cancellations.

Very unlikely. How about telling us when you are going?

Slim and None
Disney restaurants do not save any tables for walkup. You would be hoping for a cancellation and that is a large group
Keep trying for an ADR as cancellations do occur

I too have seen many folks turned away at SciFi. That place is usually full. I did walkup once though (my DS and I) and we got a table just fine....but in a place like that, its much easier to find a table for 2 than 3+.

You can always try walking up. Wont hurt to try.

I suppose that would help. We would like to eat there for dinner on October 14th. I was able to score a table today though, so walk-up is not necessary anymore. ;)

Not very good. The way the seating is set up, for your party you'd basically need two cars. I think the odds of that happening would be pretty small.

very slim, keep looking for reservations and try to book two parties, around the same time to increase your chances, party of 6 is ideal for their sitting arrangements add another ADR for the extra party of 3

Since Hollywood studios has no decent quick service imo and lots of other people's opinion. A lot of people goes there and spends not to much more money there as they would quick service. Backlot use to be ok but they went downhill. Plus sci FI is a pretty cool restaurant. Where else can you eat in a car.
