walk up queue for sit down dining

I thought I had read that you could join a "walk up" queue for restaurants the day you were in the park. I just looked on the app and don't see any way to do that. Am I misremembering that info from when they reopened?

Look again in the app under dining. Right now I see the option to join the "Walk Up List" for Carthay (55min) and River Belle (20min) for example. Locations with active walk up lists show up with wait times like rides.

I'm glad you asked about this! I had no idea this was even available! I clicked on today's date and the "Now" option for the time. I then had to enable location services. Since I'm not currently at the resort, the options that are available say "Please move closer to the restaurant to join the walk-up list." The others say "Walk-up list is currently unavailable to join due to high demand."

Thank you so much! I was looking for a separate tab (like "make reservations" or "join virtual queue"), not the dining section of the map.

Ok, it took me a minute to figure this out (and I thought I knew this blinkin' app backwards and forwards!).

So from the home screen you click on the "+" sign in the middle at the bottom.
Click "Check Dining Availability"
Put in your party size.
Click on today's date.
Under "Search by Time" click "Now"
It shows a list that mostly says "Walkup List is Currently Unavailable" but a couple, like WCT, say "Please move closer to the restaurant to join the walk-up list."

After poking around a bit more in the Dining map on the app, I can see other locations that also have "Join Walk Up List" buttons but do not have wait times showing. Maybe there's a threshold where a wait time starts to show (like <1hr or something?)? Oga's, for example, currently has a Join Walk Up List button but no wait time showing (can't get further than clicking the Join button because I'm not in the park). Cafe Orleans, on the other hand, has the button but also a red message that says "Walk-Up List is at capacity".

Only places I'm seeing that don't seem to have Walk-Up list at all in the app are Alfresco Terrace (which I believe does take walk ups in person), Lamplight and Blue Bayou.

Thanks all, this is so cool. Filtering for Dining on the map and viewing as a list seems to lay it out really well.

Just as an FYI currently Bkue Bayou is NOT accepting any walk ups or virtual wait list.

I saw this morning before my 11am reservation at least 80 people turned away , several who tried to convince the hosts they needed to get in for one reason or another lol. That said I won't be coming back again..overcooked steak is no bueno.

Follow up question, when you join the walk up queue, can you do it for later in the day? For example, can you join the walk up queue at 11:00 for an evening time slot?
