We are headed to DCA soon and want to book a character meal. I am just wondering if there is a monorail or some way to get to the Disneyland Resort (from the park) for the meal. We will probably book Goofy's Kitchen (if there are any reservations left!!)...we are just looking for the character variety. I would appreciate any help or suggestions you have. Thanks!

Depending on the time, yeah, you can take the monorail from Tomorrowland to the end of Downtown Disney. From there you just walk to Goofy's kitchen. Or you can just walk through Downtown Disney to get there. It's probably only a 10 minute walk.

Goofy's Kitchen is good since it is the only meal with dinner, and all three meals.

Ariel's Grotto serves Brunch for two meal, and is Princesses.

The other locations serve breakfast.

For character variety Minnie and Friends Breakfast has the best offering. Better than WDW. It will have several characters, classic, common, and rare.

One of our favorite places. A supper to breakfast convert.

We love goofy's. We will be going there in January. My DH and I enjoy the food there more but I prefer the characters at Minnies. We usually try to do both on each trip if we can. The walk is not that bad.

Our family would also agree that we like Goofy's better for food. They offer more of a brunch so you can have both breakfast and lunch type items but we liked the characters at Minnie's better. The walk was not bad at all. We walked from The GCH's enterance at DTD to DLH and it wasn't bad at all. There is a lot to see along the way.

Goofy's Kitchen has an amazing dinner, we were thoroughly entertained as well as ate our hearts out. Last time we ate there, we got into the parks midday, collected some fast-passes, then had some pool time before dinner at 5p. Could not believe it when I looked at my watch and it was 7:00! We ran over to the monorail, went back into the park and used all 3 fastpasses by 8p (we just barely got into the line for the last one at 8). Monorail definitely helped us. :thumbsup2

Goofy's is great! I would suggest just walking from the park unless you have some health issue, or just want the fun of riding the monorail. It is a nice walk through Downtown Disney. We stayed at DLH last summer. Our Goofy's kitchen night, I decided it would be fun to ride the monrail back. The line was pretty long, and all I heard from DH while we were standing there in line was that if we had just walked back we would already be there. He was definitely right though. We probably waited for the monorail twice as long (or maybe more) than if we had just walked it.

IF you are in tomorrowland them its convenient to take the monorail. Anywhere else, and it's probably just as easy to walk through DTD.

If you're in the middle of the July/August heat, I'd say take the monorail just to beat some of that heat. There's nothing I hate worse than sweating and eating. But if it's cool, it's definitely not too long a walk to the Disneyland Hotel.
