I don' know if this is the right way to say this, I know that with the dining plan there's a lot of people at the ts restaurants, but I want to know how difficult it would be (or how imposible) to just go to a ts restaurant and see if they can squeeze us in, it would only be 2 people (me and my mom), we would be going aug 22-29. I have 3 adrs but I want to know this just in case we want to try it.

thanks everyone.

There are less tables for 2 people in most restaurants so it would be more difficult to get a table than a party of 4. I would make ADRs for the popular places if you can get them. If you are going to eat at odd times, really early dinner or really late dinners you might be ok. Also the hotel restaurants sometimes have more availability than in the parks.

Give it a try. Sometimes it will work, sometimes it wont. Try to get to the rest if it is in a park as soon as you can and early in the day so get a better chance. Dont turn down lunch as an option for a TS either.

I would sy you have a better shot if it was early like 4, 4:30 5. After that. I wouldn't think so. I personally wouldn't take a chance to afraid not to have ADR'S.

I think it's possible, but not extremely likely.

What I would reccomend doing is that if you want to do this, figure out what place you want to go to in the morning, and then go to guest services and see if they have any openings at that restaurant that night. If they do, get a reservation, and you will have that table, instead of taking a chance.

Dinner and lunch times are ridiculously crowded, so it is better to have a plan.

Also you can keep Disney Dinnng on your cell phone and ck with them through out the day. You might get lucky and they have an opening.

I would definitley try it. When I have been down there with the other half , there has been many times that we have been able to get into a restaurant last minute, or at an off time of the day. Peak lunch and dinner hours will be tough, but I would definitley give it a shot, you have nothing to lose!

Well, I do know that I was able to do this, and on the dates you're going. Although it was a solo trip, the table size would be the same. I went to R&C as soon as the podium opened (11:00?) and they said that if I came back right at opening (12:00?), she'd squeeze me in. Sure enough, I was led to my table right at opening.

thanks everyone, I do have 3 adrs like i said, but we're planing on surviving with cs food, we don't want to spend a lot of money on food, and my mom she doesn't eat a lot so that's another reason for not going to ts restaurants, so i just wanted to know this for just in case. so thank you, and i'm going to give a try if we feel like it.

I don't think it is impossible. We went to Disney a last minute trip in april during spring break (and it was busy) Since it was a last minute trip I didn't make ANY ADR's and decided just to do counter service. Well during the last days I couldn't do it CS anymore I needed to sit down. FYI it was me and my DS13 so it was for 2 adults.

I walked into LTT at 5pm and just asked if there was any available seats for dinner I we were seated at 5:20............I guess we just go lucky, it doesn't hurt to try..............GOOD LUCK.............when it's for 2 people its more likely they would be able to seat you.

Isnt that free dining time, I would think it would be next to impossible

DH and I have had very limited success in walking in for dinner but right when the place opens...sometimes they squeeze us in.

If I were you I would get on the phone and check what is open

I believe "free dining" starts Aug 24th. Getting "walk in" seating may be very difficult from the 24th on. Lunch time may be a better bet for walk in seating at some of the TS restaurants. I would check in with dining service as early as possible to check availability of same day ressies.

Free dinning does start the 24th.

In my experience, it's next to impossible. We've been there at really low-crowd times and were unable to get a TS with an ADR. And there's little bigger bummer than really wanting to have a nice meal, being hot and tired, and having to stand in line with tray to get a crappy burger. KWIM?

Hope you and your mom have fun! And hopefully you prove me wrong and have fantastic meals!
