Walk from Dolphin to Yacht Club

It isn't so much about bus use as it is flooding the bus stops at busy times making the guest that paid to stay at a Disney Resort possibly having a longer wait getting to the parks. Visiting the resort is a different situation.

Exactly! Bus use & capacity is calculated on the number of rooms at any given resort. Having a large amount of guests from 2 (or 3) other resorts show up to ride the Disney buses at opening & closing will certainly impact paying guests. One or 2 parties hoping a bus to a park after a dining adr won’t.

I've done both and the actual walk from where dolphin drops you off at MK is very close to TTC so step wise you are probably better off. Timing wise is another thing. I happened to do it at park opening so security lines were longish but handled pretty well. The lines for transportation were chaotic, I chose the boat which was probably a mistake. If I had gone to the monorail it probably would have been a little less stampede like. But, I don't think I saved anymore time or steps going to YC. I wasn't in a hurry either time and was not rope dropping.

I agree. Swan is servicing 2 theme parks and DS. The 3 hotels are close together, closer then the spread out stops Disney uses. My experience, wait for Swan...buses is less then Disney buses. Part of group drove to AK. We left the park at the same time. Bus got us back faster. Our bus was already out of the parking lot before the drivers got to their car.

It appears the buses run on a shuttle mode.

I haven't been hunting for resort reviews because I have only stayed at the least expensive resorts such as the All Stars. Anyone else noted consistently poorer bus service at Yacht Club and Beach Club as seen at the platform?

Or maybe the service at YC and BC is calculated to be a little worse to discourage Swan and Dolphon guests.

Actually the use of the Disney bus system is open to all, even covers in their own Help Center.
Q. I’m not staying at a Disney Resort hotel. Can I use the monorails, buses and boats to get around Walt Disney World Resort?

There were some issues at YC/BC a year or so ago, but those were guests exiting out of Epcot and getting on the buses in large numbers. Though that seems to have been a short term issue. I don't think you see enough S/D users using either YC/BC or BW to cause issue.

@KC Fan do check out the Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE RESORTS Information & Questions thread - lot of good current info and regular group of people keep it updated.
I actually use the Yacht Club buses to get to and from MK when I stay at Dolphin. There is not a horde of us. Maybe 2 parties at most. And anyone can use the buses, as you said. Never experienced any unhappy Yacht Cub guests.

Honestly I don't know how any Yacht, Boardwalk, or Beach Club guests could even know if you're staying at that resort. There's no IDing, or scanning Magic Bands - you have no way of knowing how many people at your given bus stop are staying at that resort or somewhere else. From Dolphin, the walk to Yacht Club's bus or Boardwalk's bus is probably close to the same distance, so you could pick either one. Depending on time of day and park, they sometimes have separate busses for Boardwalk, and sometimes combined with Beach and Yacht.

Boardwalk is my home resort - and I know between the Boardwalk entertainment and restaurants, and people using the Epcot area busses to get to Epcot via the Intl Gateway, that there are likely people at my bus stop not staying at Boardwalk - but short of asking them and getting an honest response, there's not really any way to tell and it's never bothered me. And I very often use other resort busses to get around - last week staying at Boardwalk, I walked over to DHS to catch the Wilderness Lodge bus, where I then took the boat to MK...coming back from Steakhouse 71 dinner, I took the bus to DHS which had just closed, and walked back to Boardwalk.

Long ago when Swan & Dolphin used to head direct to the Disney parking areas, the Epcot resort busses were often split with Swan & Dolphin getting their own, and Beach, Yacht, & Boardwalk getting their own. I would walk out my garden view room at Boardwalk and cross the bridge to Swan to hop their bus to MK, rather than take my own - not only was that bus stop closer to my room, but the bus made fewer stops and was more frequent! I stopped doing that when they started using the T&T bus stop instead of the MK one.
