Walk from BWV

Hi we have a trip planned in August at BWV. It will be our first stay there��. Anyway, my Kids still request a dinner every trip at Chef Mickeys. I was thinking of trying Cay may for breakfast instead. How long of a walk is it to get to Cape may from BWV?

It's a short, and very enjoyable walk around the lake to the Beach Club. There are Friendship Boats which provide transportation between Epcot, The Disney Studios, and the Epcot Area resorts, but the boat which leaves the Boardwalk heads to Epcot first, and then the Yacht & Beach Club so it's definitely quicker to walk but is still an option if you want to minimize walking (depending on the age of your kids).

Love Cape May Cafe - Goofy's Beach Blast! - this buffet is smaller than what you have done before. If something runs out so be patient - the CM will generally get more in a few minutes.

Thank you for the info! We are looking forward to exploring the area and trying Cape may as well as beaches and cream. It sounds the walk will not be a problem! Now I just have to sell the kids on it! They had 2 requests for our week, the crystal palace and Chef Mickeys. Being 12, 8, and 6 you would think they would be growing out of the characters by now!

There are Friendship Boats which provide transportation between Epcot, The Disney Studios, and the Epcot Area resorts, but the boat which leaves the Boardwalk heads to Epcot first, and then the Yacht & Beach Club so it's definitely quicker to walk but is still an option if you want to minimize walking (depending on the age of your kids).

Actually, there are separate boats to take from BWV. One boat goes to Epcot. The other goes to Beach/Yacht first, then Swan/Dolphin, then Studios. So if the OP decides to take a boat it should be the one headed to Studios because it goes directly to Beach/Yacht Club.

Hopare, the breakfast at Cape May is good and characters friendly although it is hard to outdo the ones at Chef Mickey's at dinner. Cape May does not have characters at dinner but if you have not done it yet, it has one the best seafood buffets for dinner that you are going to find anywhere and they add some extra fun by giving you a paper tablecloth and crayons for everyone to draw anything anywhere on it.

Also, another character option to consider that is walkable is Akerhus in Epcot where the characters are the princesses. The dinner option there is combined buffet and table service. The buffet is sort of a salad bar but much more with lots of meats and cheeses, shrimp, other appetzier fish dishes in the salad bar. The entrees, the table service half of the dinner, are also good.

Awesome info, thanks! I think we will skip dinner as none of my kids like seafood and we are from New England and I heard that it can't compete:confused

My kids love Chef Mickeys because one year Goofy put jelly beans in my husbands soda, Goofy spent a lot of time "goofin" around with us. The still talk about that dinner often

I stand corrected. Yes, it is counter-intuitive but if you want to take the boat directly to the Yacht & Beach Club, you need to take the boat heading to Disney Hollywood Studios because it indeed goes to the YC/BC first, then the Swan & Dolphin, then to the Studios.

What we liked about Cap May vs. Chef Mickey's is Cape May is a much more low-key breakfast experience. Chef Mickey's is loud and can feel pretty chaotic at times. Cape May is quieter, with fewer characters (Minnie, Goofy and Donald vs. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto at CM) but also is a bit cheaper.

With kids as old as yours, Cape May could be the perfect compromise. Enough characters to satsify their character meal craving, but also the chance for an enjoyable breakfast too.

And you get to see them dressed for the beach! Very cute!

We haven't been there in quite a while but last time we went they had Minnie, Goofy, Chip and Dale. We had breakfast quite late that day and by the time we finished there were only two other tables still occupied. Goofy sat down at our table and "talked" with my mom by writing out questions in crayon on the paper tablecloth.

As my DGC have gotten older, (one now and "adult" for Disney & that does bother me!) they now appreciate the breakfast buffet at the Captain's Grill.
