Waking up to a Blizzard... what are your plans?

Our satellite dish is burried. DH is going out to try to blow off some of the snow. I guess we are not going anywhere today and will not be attending the SB party tomorrow.

DH is on the ham radio and one of the guys about 10 minutes from us is at 28 inches. I measured 21inches on the top of our picnic table(that was the closest thing I could get to that hadn't been touched!) and it is STILL coming down. It's the SNOWPOCALYPSE!!!

So kewl! My dh is also on his ham radio... :thumbsup2

Wow, we are sitting here in MN looking at all your snow totals just amazed.

We got nothing out of this storm.

I've lived in MN all my life and I don't think I've every seen more than 18" fall at one time and that's been rare. Normal snow falls are maybe 3-4".

Good luck to you all shoveling, and I hate to think of spring flooding, yikes.

It's still snowing here. I made breakfast and will do some cleaning. Dh couldn't go to work this morning at 4am, I'm so glad he is snowed in here rather than there-the casinos don't close. I made banana bread last night and plan on making meatballs today. I have over 6 pounds of ground turkey and will make some for dinner and freeze the rest for lots more dinners.

Still coming down like crazy here! We've got about 28 inches with more to come.

Our plans today consist of lounging around in pajamas. I'm downstairs watchin TV, DH is upstairs playing video games. I don't plan on moving from my couch until absolutely needed.. aka potty and food breaks lol.

Really???? I remember many storms of around 2 feet or so growing up. In high school we had a week where we had 22" in Tuesday and 24" in Thursday. The last one I remember like this though was about 10 years ago and we got about 28" that time. Check the weather channel though, they are predicting 10"+ for parts of the state Sunday night into Monday, which will look like a fart in the wind compared to the storm out east though.

Northern part of Maryland here. I have no idea how much snow we have here - 20+ inches probably. My bushes out front are completely buried. Watching the news, surfing the net, baking and relaxing. It is actually nice not to have to do something. Of course, I'll do some work-work this weekend so I don't have to stay late this week.

DH works for the fire department - his trick started yesterday so he's planning to be there through the weekend. He's sending me some pretty cool pics of all the snow. Amazing. One of his guys tried to drive home this morning - he's been stuck for quite awhile. He has a pickup and the snow is well over his bumper!

DH just went to start digging out - according to the tape measure on the front porch, we got 23" so far.
DM went to Disney World this week and was supposed to come home today. I told her yesterday that her flight would probably be canceled, but yesterday it was too soon to tell. Why didn't she check with the airline before going to the airport? :rolleyes1 Now she is at the Orlando airport and frustrated because the flight was canceled. Even if she gets a later flight, I'm not sure that my son can pick her up because we are currently under a state of emergency so non-emergency travel is not permitted. Ugghhh . .
Anyway - my plan is to get the laundry and my homework done today.

Or....an alternative to turbotax

Well, I was going to bake cupcakes but apparently someone spilled something in the oven and it needs to get cleaned out before I can bake :(

I am in S. Jersey and we are expecting up to 30" of the white stuff. It is terrible here already this morning. We are snowed in and have no plans of going anywhere for the entire weekend.

Looks like I will be baking some banana nut muffins this morning, maybe doing some scrapbooking, watching movies and stay warm and comfy.

I'd love to hear what everyone here does in a "Blizzard."

We are in central NJ and snowed in as well. I'm reading Disboards and getting excited for our upcoming trip!

Thank God I talked my husband into not opening our store at The Gallery in Philly. We went in last time it snowed like this and had a hell of a time getting home. And to top it off... we had no business. So it wasn't too hard to reason with him this time. LOL.

So I'm getting things ready for my Super Bowl party tomorrow. I figured I already bought all the food. And I'm sure that they will have the roads cleared by then. (if not I'm going to have a lot of leftovers) LOL

Nancy

Ok, so along the shore, does it snow there?? Does anyone have pictures of a beach along the ocean with snow on it? Just something I have wondered about that really doesn't matter :lmao:.

1. I'm packing for Florida :cool1: It's work related - really.
2- Keeping my fingers crossed that the airport will get it's act together by Monday so I can GET OUT of Maryland before the next snow hits on Tuesday.
3 - Seeing what kind of super bowl treats I can cook up for my guys.

I am less than 2 miles from the beach and we had about 10 inches of snow. They are showing the beach on the news right now and it is covered with snow.
