Waitlists still disappear from dashboard when filled?

It’s been a long time since I waitlisted. Do they still disappear when matched so you know they have been? I know it take them a while to actually book sometimes, but I remember in years past they would disappear so you knew it was matched and then just waited or called to get it done.

So how do you know they've been matched?

You wait to see the new reservation or you call to see if there is a match there but not yet processed.

I just don’t ever cancel one before doing that. Sometimes I have picked up my second choice, canceled the waitlist, and first choice shows up so I grab It!

That has happened when I stalk too. Grab it and then cancel and see it show up again.

I wish they would show it pending so you know.

That sucks. I had a suspicion because I got impatient and grabbed something else and cancelled the waitlist and then I saw it show up as available so I grabbed it. With the phone lines having such long wait lately I really don’t want to call just to check. So I guess now I just wait and hope.

Chat can sometimes tell you. They are doing a test program that allows some CMs the ability to do bookings, etc like CMs on the phone. I will always try that if I really need to know.

How long before the new room showed up? I had that happen when I was in the website but both it and the room were gone. When I refreshed the new room was there.

Or, are you saying it disappeared and the new room didn’t show right away?

We recently had a room on the waitlist for about 2 weeks, and then disappeared from the waitlist when we received the confirmation email. Prior to this, several times we've had rooms on the waitlist for about 3 weeks, and when we called up, a CM would tell us that our waitlist had been matched, and proceed to confirm the reservation. I've often wondered how long the matched room would have stayed on the waitlist if we had not called in.

Thanks for clarifying. Mine disappear too when it’s processed and the reservation is there.

Bur I was referring to it disappearing when it matches but waiting for a CM to change it.

It used to do that which is how someone knew it was going to be filled. Now, it will still just stay as a waitlist even though it has marched behind the scenes.
