Waitlist questions

Hi, everyone! We've got ressies for VWL for Nov. 8-13 for 3 studios (we're traveling w/friends and their kids). We normally stay in the Epcot area (at BCV) and were hoping to stay there for this trip as well, despite the fact that we love VWL, too. Anyway, we're thinking of waitlisting at either BCV or BWV for the 3 studios for all 5 nights... What do you think is the probability of that many rooms clearing for us? Several members of the group definitely wouldn't want to switch resorts midway through, so we need to waitlist for all 5 nights instead of day-by-day. Although my preference is BCV, do you think I should try for BWV since it's a larger resort? Would the likelihood of rooms becoming available for the 5 nights be higher there or about the same as BCV? Any advice on strategies would be much appreciated. I think we'll be happy wherever we stay, but I was just hoping for BCV because we have kids who would really enjoy SAB and adults who would love the proximity to Epcot for the F&W Festival.

If you waitlist, I would do for the whole time or nothing. The Epcot resorts might be a bit difficult for that time because of the F&W festival, but nothing ventured, nothing gained!

I'm not sure if you can waitlist for 3 studios for 5 nights to become available all at once. Would you be OK if only 1 or 2 of the studios came through? If not, I'd just stay at the VWL. FWIW, I don't think that getting 3 studios at BCV or BWV to clear the waitlist at the same time for your dates is very likely.

The 7 month window isn't open yet for your dates - why not just ask MS what they think when you call to try to make the change? Maybe you can get 1 or 2 of the rooms for all 5 nights right away, then the waitlist wouldn't appear quite so daunting.

I'm not holding out much hope that the waitlist would come through for either resort, but I just wondered if one would be better to try for than the other -- or if we should just try for BCV (our 1st choice) despite the fact that it's smaller. It would be great if they had 2 out of 3 studios for all 5 nights right off the bat, but I'm sure the odds aren't good of that happening. I'm just afraid that if we do 1 studio at a time once each becomes available that we run the risk of one family having to stay at a different resort, which would be a bummer... Guess we'll just wait 'til the 7-month window opens next week and see what's available at that point and do whatever MS recommends. We actually went almost the same time last year and had booked 5 nights at BWV and waitlisted at BCV for 2 studios. Fortunately, the rooms cleared very quickly (within a month of the 7-month window opening) and we were able to stay at BCV after all... Don't know if we'll be as lucky this time around, however -- seems even busier this year!
