Waitlist not clearing even though room available?

Has anyone ever had this happen? I have a reservation for a studio at CCV and was trying to move up to a 1BR in June but 1 day in my 6 night stay wasnt available. So I called and put a waitlist request in, which I can see in my dashboard. Just for kicks i logged in just now and saw that the 1 BR is available. So I just modified my existing reservation to snag the 1BR. What’s the point of the waitlist if it doesn’t trigger when there is availability? Or does it only check like once a day lol.

I got it, so thats good, but i was just surprised the waitlist didnt work.

Just chiming in the same thing happened to me for a 2-bdrm at PIT. I would also like to know how the waitlist is triggered.

The same thing happened to me today actually. I had VGF booked for 5 nights around Labor Day, and waitlisted a 2BD at RIV when the 7 month window open. Logged in today to check availability for my dates, and there was the 2BD at RIV sitting there available. My waitlist had not filled, though.

OP, did this happen to you today, or recently?

The various reports I've seen like this lead me to assume to waitlist is a batch operation that processes at some interval. Thinking about the scale bookings happen at, it's fairly expensive to react to every release operation and traverse a waitlist. I don't doubt they could make it a bit faster, but if there isn't a need to, I can see why they wouldn't bother.
