Waitlist Hopes at AKV

Brand new to the DVC, bought into PVB last week, and had high hopes of a quick visit from Dec 3 - 6 at AKV, specifically a club level studio at Jambo. The only location available, however, was SSR, which I did go ahead and book. I'm waitlisted for the dream room at AKV, but wondered if there's any chance at all of getting or if I'm just kidding myself. Any advice for this newbie would be greatly appreciated!!!

Home and Much
There are only 5 2-bdrm lockoffs at AKL-CL. They are some of the hardest rooms to book within the DVC system. Unless you own at AKL/V and can book at 11 months you will have a very hard time booking one of those rooms.

Just curious why you didn't book at Poly? If you're interested, I'd call your guide and see if there's anything he can do to get you a reservation there.

I just joined last week and missed the 11 month window. If Disney would be kind enough to continue celebrating Christmas into March, however, I'd be in business!

Congratulations on your DVC purchase and Welcome Home! You will have many visits to WDW so you will be able to enjoy each and every resort. That being said, you will be very lucky to ever get a club level room at AKV without doing it before the 7 month mark. If that is something you are really interested in, you might think about doing something creative (maybe renting out your points and then renting AKV so you have the 11 month booking advantage). And, the week you are traveling is one of the highest demand for DVC.

So, back to the great news.......you are now a DVC owner! Congrats again!

Thanks to these boards, I've learned SO MUCH about DVC in the past couple of days. I'm now waitlisted for a Savannah View studio at AKV and for a studio at BWV, am truly happy I have the SSR room at all, and am far FAR wiser regarding the whole process. Y'all are the best!

Just remember that individual days fill much easier than blocks of days. If I were you, I would continue to stalk the availability and try to fill it yourself if you can. Also, I'm not sure if you're waitlisted at Jambo or Kidani, but you will have a better chance of Kidani filling. Enjoy!!
