Waitlist for New Year's. Do I stand a chance?

Disney can rent out their inventory and any inventory we returned to them for whatever amount they can get and it's of no real concern to me. I'm a DVC member, I pay with points. The more money DVC/Disney can get for renting out our accomodations, the fewer points we'll need to give up for our trades. People renting points on a quasi-business basis are helping no one but themselves. They are scooping up dates members would like to book and undercutting the prices DVC can charge. They are also charging or attempting to charge an increase in the going rental rates.

No I did not and will not lower my price of $12.50 a point. If others want to give away their vacation time, I say go for it as it makes no difference to me.

I support the Disney company in most things they do. As such, I give them my money. I have already given them my money by buying into DVC. I don't support them because they are the cheapest, I support them because they provide quality entertainment and wonderful resorts.

YOU are not Disney. You are someone who has repeatedly answered questions about NYE with the response that someone can rent a studio from you. I would rather pay more and give my money to disney than pay less and give it to YOU. I also don't support ticket scalpers for popular events.

The only comments I ever see from you on THIS board is how someone can get a popular DVC time by renting rather than using their membership. How many times does it take before the line is crossed? How many licks does it take to get to the tootsie roll center of a tootsie pop? I don't know, but I sure as heck know it when I get there.

Anyway, that's all I'll say on this topic in the interest of not starting a debate (too late? ). Except to wish the OP luck in getting their reservation!

Thanks everyone. I am feeling the Pixie Dust. We are going to go ahead and make reservations somewhere else just in case. I will let you all know if the waitlist comes through.

We were wait listed for Jan 1 for a 2 bdrm at BCV and it came thru last week. We had made the reservation at 8 months out. I got so excited I called MS and now we are wait listed for an additional night at the end of our stay!
