Waitlist for just one night of a 7 night trip

Hi everyone,

We have a 7 night trip booked for CCV in Feb and we have a few points left over that we're not sure what to do with so we had the idea that we would stay concierge level for one night of our trip if we can get it through a waitlist. I know what a longshot this is but we have nothing to lose by trying!

Here's my question - if we waitlist the AKL Club Level for the first night of our trip, how will the system manage that? Will it follow these steps?
1. change our 7 night reservation to a 6 night at CCV
2. change/add that first night to AKL
3. credit the points back from CCV and combine with our left over points to pay for AKL CL?

I'm thinking that's way too complicated for Disney IT and we'll end up with the system taking points from another contract that we don't want to use for this trip

If you want to replace just one night of your trip to a different room, you have to call MS to set it up and be very clear you only want the matching night to be changed, and not the entire trip.

You can’t set it up that way online because if you choose replace reservation, it will replace all the nights.

But, yes, if you waitlist one night, and ask MS to replace just one night at the front or back end of the trip, they can modify your 7 nights to 6 nights and then book the room using the freed up points.

If you have any extra points that could be used to fill the night first, I’d do that and then modify your current trip on your own if it fills,
