Waitlist came through-little nervous

Own at both and enjoy each for different reasons. OKW was our first resort and stay and we love it there. BW has the location!! The rooms themselves are very similar to SSR so if you like those you will like BWV rooms.
Shorter, or park intense stays we love the location of the Epcot resorts. Longer, more relaxed stays ......then OKW. For a bit of spice - we try AKL and hopefully the new resorts.
All have good and little bad, so try it. There really is nothing to lose!

I say try it but I do understand your concerns. We have stayed at all the DVC resorts and all the nonDVC resorts and some I have only stayed at once. Once was enough to know I did not want to go back.

It is nice to have choices and now I know from trying them all what I like and I don't worry about it anymore.

Good luck!

I say give it a try. We've stayed at BWV twice and YC thrice, Epcot Resort area is really great, keep the reservation.

Thank you all for the valuable insight. We are going to keep the BWV room, and roll with it. Lets face it, a bad day at Disney.....lol!!!

I have decided to tell DW about the trip,it was supposed to be a surprise, but I am not as good as I thought I would be at keeping it a secret. Now she gets to be excited and has something to look forward to also.

I guess it sometimes takes getting out of your own way to see the forest or the light, so to speak. Much of the input is stuff we talked about doing with our DVC membership but found it hard to get away from the "known" and chance it with the kids in tow. We really enjoy SSR.

We have agreed that the pros and cons cannot be known without learning what they are for ourselves, hopefully at all the DVC's in the coming years.

I think the walk to EPCOT and DHS will offset the access to dining and DTD and offer something completely new for us. I am getting very excited. We have never done F&W. I will surely check in and take some photos. Maybe even a TR.

A "Just the Two of Us" trip is the perfect time for BWV or BCV location. We love the relaxed pace, strolling the beach or boardwalk, hopping in and out of the World Showcase. A lot of great restaurants nearby. ENJOY!!

Sorry BWV fans, but this is our least favorite resort.:goodvibes We have tried all the DVC resorts. This is the only one we have no desire to return to. We are also big fans of SSR and OKW, and basically compare all the DVC's to our beloved OKW. We stayed at the BWV years ago to try it out and decided that would be our last stay there. It just has absolutely no appeal to us. It feels so barren, compared to the landscaping at SSR and especially OKW. It also seems too big for the piece of property it's on. To get to any of the restaurants or shops, you have to basically leave the resort and walk to the boardwalk. If you are in one of the rooms at the far end of the hallway, it feels like a colossal joke just getting there. The boats are frustratingly slow and the buses can also get very crowded when they are servicing all 7 resorts at the Epcot Resort area. The walk to Epcot is nice, but you still have a very long walk to get to the front. The walk to the Studios is not a plus, IMO. In the summer, you sweat like a pig just getting there and back.;)

That said, I'm glad we did give it a try. How else will you know if you like it or not? It has a very nice lobby area, even though it's rather tiny. At Christmas, this lobby really shines and is worth the trip alone.:thumbsup2 There are worse places you could spend your vacation. :goodvibes

I guess I won't have to worry about competing at 11 months with La2kw for my beloved BW view room, but maybe for my also treasured OKW GV! :lmao:
