Waitlist and MS vent!!

I'm a newbie and had to make a change with the dates of my first trip home. The CM I spoke to was very nice but when I checked my reservation, which was supposed to have a check out date of the 1st,it instead had the 31st. Not wanting to jinx anything,I left it as it was. I called and added an extra night to my Universal hotel reservation.

Newbie question... Is it safe to assume that if you check your reservation on the dvcmember website and it is correct you are good to go?

Yepper!

I check once a week, just to be sure!

With all the Horror stories here on the boards with ressies and waitlist , I thought I was the only one checking a perfectly good ressie once a week.

If it was just me I wouldn't check , but how would I tell 9 other people the studio and 2 bedroom had a " glitch " and are now NOT in the system!

I just joined and I look in at least once a week. I just am not very comfortable doing all this by phone, so after I call in, that same day I check on line to make sure everything is correct(if not I can call back the same day or the next).

When certain Advisors answer, I just hang-up and call back. 15 minutes on hold (Beauty & the Beast this week) is better than a fouled up reservation.

I will only reallocate with certain well known, and experienced advisors as well, it is so easy for them to trash a ressie.

I will give my left pinkie toe to have the names of the nice advisors!

I have this fear that when I call up to make a reservation that somehow my beloved-whole-family-at-VWL-for-December ressie will get messed up. Like, they're like, oh, you'll be here in December too and I'm cringing, thinking, oh, DON'T even LOOK at it, you might hit the wrong button or something!

I did get some lady who told me the computers were down and she'd have to do the reservations "manually" and couldn't give me a confirmation number. Yeah, fell for that one only once....

Usually if I get a "sigh" within the first five minutes of calling in I'll tell them I need to check on something and then call back to get somebody who's a little fresher.

These are the best IMHO, and not in order of greatness, as they are all fantastic!

There is another 'T' that I am forgetting!
Erin
and another, with a very pretty name that escapes me at the moment.

These Advisors have always gone above and beyond. Always checking dates thoroughly, suggesting cash nights when points are sold out. Always checking my waitlist before I ask. Always recapping my point status at the end of the call. Always reviewing point cancellation policies, even though they know, I know them.

They have also offerred reallocation without asking.

I love these ladies!

Ladies if you monitor these pages, please know that you personalities, diligence and capabilities are great appreciated by me, I wish they were all like you!

BTW, that is the last 'secret' that I'm sharing, its all about ME from now on!

This is great information from the wise frog man. Now if someone could just tell me where to see my reservation on my DVC page. I've been unable to find it.

This isn't just about MS but I called a few weeks ago to try to book a cruise out of Epcot for Illuminations. I gave them my dates that I would like a cruise and they told me everything was booked and we went day by day. I decided to try 2 days ago just to see if anything was canceled and the guy I talked to gave me lots of days. I booked one for the end of our vacation and I will call a week before we go just to make sure we have the reservation. Not sure what to believe

Saratoga Springs is booked for Aug? What size room are you trying to get? Is there something special going on in Aug? Just curious.

I booked standard BWV studio by day for August. :cool1: I will not be at SSR in August. MS has been great - very courteous every day.

I just did this last night for the first time.

After you log onto dvcmember.com, select "MY DVC" link, located in the upper left/center.

The page that opens should say "My Disney Vacation Club." Click the link that says "Points" and that will take you to the page you want. Be warned, it only shows when you made the ressie, the dates, location, preferences, and confirmation number.

Hope this helps. Have a great trip.
