We sent our $ and signed closing documents to Timeshare Titles & More last week. They were received last Friday 6/1. I just sent an email to check in on the status of our closing and was told that the sellers just got back from a trip to Disney and will return their signed documents soon.

My question is this...is there a time limit on how long they can take to return their papers? I know that it hasn't been that long but just curious if there are any parameters.

Oh, I am also feeling a little sad for the sellers if this was their last DVC vacation before they sell their contract. Maybe they are happy for the $ instead of the points?

Thanks for the info!

They are probably happy for the money once they've made their mind up to sell. The turnaround time can vary - there have been posts from buyers that have waited from a few days to many weeks to have the seller return the paperwork and in some cases the seller never returned the paperwork and the buyer backed out and started over. It's a good sign that the broker has been in contact with them - hopefully they'll return the paperwork quickly.

The amount of time that sellers have to return their paperwork is dictated by the contract closing time frame set forth in the contract, which can be anywhere from 60-120 days. Typically things don't take this long, but the extra time is built in so that contracts don't get voided because of a few delays. This is a very long process and most people tend to get fidgety at some point along the road. It's important to remember that delays are inevitable and not every step of the process happens at the first possible opportunity.

So, I just received an email the the sellers actually sent their paperwork back on Monday. This makes me feel better...even if we don't close for a while, I know that it is out of our individual hands!

I don't feel truly antsy yet but give me a few more weeks and I am sure I will be getting there :confused3

Thanks for the info!

We were some of those buyers that did back out after a very long wait for our sellers to sign and return closing papers and have started over. In our case had the sellers at least responded to e-mails we would have waited as long as it took. The title co. was bugging everyone else about what to DO with our $ and broker urged us to cancel.

I am very happy to hear that you have cleared that hurdle and are literally days away from your happy ending. Congrats!!
