Hoping someone can answer a question for me. I purchased a small contract and passed rofr back on December 15. I have yet to get anything from the title company. I reached out back in December and they told me I should get paperwork in a week or so… it’s been a month. Can I back out if this without losing my deposit? Today is day 65 from when we signed the contracts

Have you reached back out - I didn't know they "sent" me my closing docs for week - they said they sent but i didnt get them

The closing date on the contract is the date you can cancel and get deposit back.

If it's Aulani - First American to even do my deposit I contacted them and she pulled my file and sent me the escrow info

I passed ROFR last Friday and am waiting for my contract, the sales person said I should be getting it next week
if I don't have it by Wednesday I will call First American again ... she was very pleasant to talk to, but she sounded swamped and when I had talked to her and a lot of people had been out sick.

I've found that so many people are "unpleasant" because of frustration with whatever their situation is, that when your nice to anyone in customer service they want help you however they can (sometime they can't do anything) it's amazing how far an "it's ok, it's not your fault" can go to brighten somebody else's day

I passed ROFR on the 14th, and received my docs on Monday (1/17). On Tuesday, I found out my original title agent was out sick for a week. We all know what that means. I was told my file would be handled by another agent, and it was as she confirmed on Wednesday that they had received my documents back via FedEx. Yesterday, I learned that agent #2 is now also out sick until next week and a manager is now handling my file. Three different agents in 7 days. It's just the times we are living in.

I agree, I think you should reach out to First American. I just closed with them last year and anytime I had a question, I would email them. They always answered promptly and were very courteous. I have to say, it did take a long time for them to close, though.
