Has anyone heard anything about the waiting list for the CA-FL cruise? My DW and I are on the waiting list, but are unsure if it's going to happen. We want to cruise next year, and were planning on taking one in October or November, but we want to use our DVC points for it. We can book it 11 months in advance, so time is quickly approaching. We need to make a decision on whether or not to book it, or keep our hopes that we will get called for the big one! Any suggestions?

It depends!~Do You Feel Lucky?

Seriously, when the 60 day rolls around there could be a lot of cancellations. There have already been two. And those are from people on the boards, so who knows from other sources. Don't know if they are taking anyone else and putting them on a waiting list. I heard that they stopped doing that because they are so many!

Good Luck in your decision, it's a tough one!

YOu must go with your gut feeling.

IF you want to know for sure you are going on a cruise then book one that is a sure thing.

If you would not be dissapointed if you dont get to go when you really wanted to then you should "wait" and see.

You might try calling and finding out how far down you are on the list, if that is possible. Too far down and you may just say
maybe next time?

hope all works out I know it can be so frustrating.

The cruises on October and November are frequently not heavily booked--this is low season. Your 11 month window is the allowable...but you can still book with points 3 or 4 months out if you want to......

So, I'd wait till 60 days before the August cruise. That would be like June 21. Then call DCL and ask whether you will be getting on that cruise or not. If no, call DVC and book the October or November.

Another advantage to waiting is that a couple of times, there has been a reduction in the number of points needed for fall sailings--as a way to fill the ship when bookings weren't running as high as they'd like. No promises that it will happen again, but it has happened at least twice. Of course, if you feel that you must have a certain date, I wouldn't wait. If you can be flexible, I think the above is your best bet.

Just for your info, we are sailing in September. Up to 2 months ahead, DCL was showing most/all categories open. They are now showing only a few categories with availability, but we are only a little over 30 days away.
