Waiting for late Nov/Dec Southwest tickets?

I doubt it would be today now it is 2:09 EST and I just came in from the pool to check. I highly doubt it will happen before tomorrow morning. Honestly I think I will check another airline from now on this is just too close. I am such a planner that I need tickets in hand earlier than this. UGH! Especially since I am going the week of thanksgiving.

Hey, have some compassion... I'm going for Christmas....:wave2:

I imagine it will be soon. I leave for the beach on Saturday, and I won't be back until Wednesday, so it will probably somewhere in that range. :earsboy:

Steffy,
Christmas time is awesome!!! I think we may plan that next year. Are you staying Christmas Day?

Oh yeah 8:01 EST nothing LOL

Hi Steffy, we're going for Christmas too. I guess I'm actually lucky that SW hasn't put out the schedule yet, because we just decided to go last week. I had a bad case of "I haven't been to WDW for a long time and I don't have any reservations to go!" We ususally go spring break but went on the Magic this last March, and next spring break we're going skiing. I've always avoided Christmas because of the crowds, but then again I have always wanted to see the decorations, so we're going! Now if I could just get those flights scheduled I'd be a lot happier.

My new guess it that they will be released sometime after 3 pm on Friday, because that's when I'm going out-of-town for a friends wedding. Luckly my husband is staying home with my 3 boys, (I'm taking my daughter) and he promised he'll check, but I know he won't be as diligent as I am.

11:00 a.m. nothing.

I have been planning since December 25, 2003 for my Dec. 17th, 2004 trip. I had a count down counter for my countdown counter... As soon as I have airfare booked, I'll feel better.:hyper: :earseek: :hyper:

yeah me too it doesn't feel set until the airfare is in hand! 11:15 est nothing!

Steffy,

We're arriving the on the 27th, the day you're leaving. Now if we could only get the plane reservations. I've also been looking at Orbitz and I can fly United or AA for the low $300, but not at the times I'd like. But the fares are not too bad but since I need six tickets I'm holding out for SW (Good flight times and low fares!)

Here's to a great trip, Barb

Yes, I'm patiently waiting for SWA as I need 5 tickets and they have the best times and prices. Period.:hyper: :hyper:

I could have had tickets on USAir, but not at the times I wanted or at the price I want to spend.

So I sit, patiently :duck: :scratchin waiting for SWA to release the schedule!!!!

Have a great trip!!!

So I just called the SWA Customer relations line (214) 792-4223 and politely asked what the #$%#@# was taking so long to get these November dates. She said that she wasn’t sure, but she did know that they have added some new planes to the fleet (something I saw in the paper as well) and that when they do that it takes a while to fit them into the schedule. She said – are you ready – that they expect to have the schedule available the 2nd or 3rd week of this month! So don’t lose any more sleep over this – it may not be happening for a while!

Wouldn't we technically already be in the 2nd week in July ?? Also since I haven't actually flown in quite a while & never on SWA, how much $ are we talking about saving vs other airlines? I've had some quotes for my dates around $188.00. If SWA is charging (I'm guess-timating) $79 one way, plus taxes etc.. I'm running about even - what is the REAL SWA advantage or are we all hoping for lower fares than the $79??? or should I scoop up the other fares??
Sick of waiting!
Christine

If I could book my flights for $188, there is no way I'd be waiting for SouthWest. The best I can do $337 and that's at times I don't like. If I were to book the times I'd like to fly I'm looking at $500 a ticket. I have 6 tickets to buy, I'll be happy with anything around $200.

If you're real lucky and catch them at key times like I have in the past (Tuesday's @ 10.00am). You could be lucky enough to catch them as they open the routes up. I've gotten round trip from ISP to MCO for as little as 49.00 each way...Mark

Mark we are neighbors I am waiting for islip too LOL! when are you going? The other problem with going with another airline for us is they are all connecting for the good rates at say USAIR I want nonstop and southwest is the best for that and price!
Steph
waiting on Long Island as well.

Done done done! this is freaken insane! Why are they taking so long? 7;24am est and nothing! AGAIN!

I gave up and booked Jetblue out of Boston for $135 RT!! I am happy with that rate and just needed to have my tickets in hand.

Good Luck everyone!!

Have a great day!

That's a great rate - and JetBlue is supposed to be pretty good.

Congratulations!

I'm still sticking with Southwest though - they're reputation is so good, it's worth the wait. I'm not going for 4 months!

I would not be waiting if jet blue flew out of islip. I am really dying to try them out but I don't want to drive an hour to an hour and a half to the airport they are at. Islip is literally 10 minutes away.

I love SW, but they need some non-stop competition out of Islip. We use JetBlue to Ft Myers, great airline, but I hate trekking into JFK!!!

I conmpletely agree that they need competition but then it gets crazy with airport expansion and such. The locals (including me) like their airport small KWIM? So there will be no competetion in the near future I don't think.
