I just thought post my opinion on what happened to me, I recently put in for a wait list. To my surprise it came through, the thing that I don't like is the fact the only way I found out a out about it, was from an email, if I would have not checked my email or if there was a problem with my email, I would have never known, no confirmation in the mail or anything.

The reason I don't like this is because my daughter wait listed Grand California last year months and months in advance, and apparently the wait list came through and we never knew about it be because in that case when we questioned it yesterday with MS, an email never went out to either of us so they returned the points to my account.

It would be better if they had 2 methods of notification, even an automated call system that would notify us, in the long run it's gotta be cheaper than paper and postage.

Since they started being able to email confirmations that is apparently the default. I imagine if you don't have an email on file then you could still receive a paper confirmation but I'm not even positive about that. Paper seems to have pretty much gone away.

The only time I waitlisted was a few weeks ago (I wanted an additional night in a BWV value next January). I didn't get any notification at all but when I checked online I had got it. Do they always email?

I like the e-mail system, myself, but frankly, I don't usually wait for DVC to let me know. When I have an active waitlist, I find myself checking online to see if there has been any activity or not. I am just not patient enough to wait for notification from them, especially for snail mail.

I have never even gotten an email when one of my waitlists goes through. I just keep checking the member website under "view reservation details" ... and now with the vacation center it's even better because you can chagne the waitlist if you want yourself.

Since your wait list was successful, tell us what you got. :cool1:

The two times my waitlist came through prior to online booking, I received an e-mail. A waitlist for a trip this summer just came through the other day and no e-mail - I just happened to be checking my reservations online and there it was.

I have a wait list and I just keep checking the online the waitlist. Is that enough?
