Wait list at WLV for Thanksgiving

Called today and made ressies for Thanksgiving week, only had studios avail. for Nov 23-26 and got put on waitlist for the rest of the week. Does this often happen?? I was told that at my 7 month window I can call back and probably there would be OKW or BCV avail. The other week I am planning on going is next April, and I was told by the DVC rep that I should make a day by day ressie for those as the fill up quick. Has anyone else done this?? Seems like alot of work calling everyday to make one more ressie, any thoughts?? Just bought last year and starting to get more used to the way of the DVC.

I'm not at all surprised... You are choosing VERY busy/Holiday times... We also seem to choose the busier times, so yes I do call day by day... The WLV's as well as all the other DVC properties fill up very very fast from Thanksgiving til Christmas... those reservations should be made if possible at the 11 month mark, same with school vacation times...

The first of the week we changed our ressies from Thanksgiving week to the 2nd week of Dec. (1BR at WLV). We were set for the 26th through the 30th.

My DW and DD will be at VWL that week 23-30 in a 1br. We booked at the 11 month window day by day and had no problem.
We also bought last year and this was the 1st ressie we made but I learned from this board about the day by day for the busy times before we made them.

Thanks for the tips, I will definetly do the day by day at the 11 month window for my April vacation. I will have to check at my 7 month window for the other days at Thanksgiving week or hope for the wait list to come through. This board is great for new members such as myself, Glad I found it.
