Hello all

My family (12 year old, 4 year old ds & 2 year old ds) will be going in June. I was wondering if we should even consider bringing our wagon with the tag along. I am at a loss as to what to put the guys in... strollers, rentals, child leash... Do many people have wagons there, are they allowed in the parks? TIA

I have never seen a wagon before, but, to be honest, my last visit was my first with a child so before that, I know I wasn't paying attention. I was thinking that with some of the bumpy roads and needing to get onto sidewalks before the curb slopes would make a wagon extremely difficult to use. I would suggest a stroller...especially in June!

You will need/want the shade for your little ones as it gets very hot in Disney in June. You could bring your own stroller, rent one from Disney or Orlando Stroller Rentals, or, join a stroller swap here on the boards for $10-$20/vacation. We brought our own last time, but it isn't in the best shape anymore so rather than hasseling with it in the airport, we joined a stroller swap for $10 for our whole trip.

I don't think Disney allows wagons. I am sure I read that somewhere but can't remember where, perhaps it was even here on the disboards.

From the WDW website.

Q. Are there any personal items I should not bring with me into the Theme Parks?

A. Items that you may not bring into the Theme Parks include, but are not limited to:
Items with wheels, such as wagons, skateboards, scooters, inline skates, shoes with built-in wheels, two-wheeled or three-wheeled conveyances, strollers larger than 36" x 52" (92 x 132 cm), suitcases, coolers, or backpacks with or without wheels larger than 24" (61 cm) long x 15" (38 cm) wide x 18" (46 cm) high (coolers required for medication may be stored in a locker or at Guest Relations), and any trailer-like object that is pushed or towed by an ECV wheelchair or stroller

Hope this info helps and have a great trip.

As others have mentioned wagons are not allowed at wdw and I can't imagine they would be very user friendly anyway.

Based on the ages of your children I would bring at least one nice comfy fully reclining stroller for the 2yo. If you have a double stroller that is comfy enough for a nap that's what I would bring. There is so much walking I wouldn't count on the 2yo walking much and the 4yo is going to need a stroller lots of time time as well esp at night. It's also nice to have seats for the parade and late night fireworks shows.

The WDW rental strollers are hard plastic and expensive to rent.

Bring a double or two umbrella strollers for the little ones, for certainly the 12 year old won't need a stroller???

As others have said, wagons are not allowed. Honestly, I really don't think it would be possible to pull one through the parks especially during busy times.

Last year our kids were almost 2, 4, and 9. We bought two Maclaren Volos for the two little ones. They were very lightweight, easy to fold up for the busses, easy to push through the parks/crowds, and the kids loved them. We will be using them again this May.

The main reason we decided to bring strollers rather than rent was price. A double stroller for 9 days would have cost about $250 to rent. We paid about $150 for our two strollers and have been able to use them at home and for a second trip. It was also convenient to use the strollers when leaving the parks in the evening and heading back to our hotel room.
