Hello! Thought Id try to sit down and do a room and trip report!
This was my first stay as a member.
Room report -
We were in studio 3505 at VWL for a couple nights right before Christmas. Room was in good shape, a few nicks here and there on the walls, mostly noticeable in the red paint, one chair cushion had a small stain and the bathroom floor could have been a tad more sparkly, but Im really pushing it here. Room looked great and I only looked hard so I could report back after all the recent room complaints. We stayed at an offsite hotel the night we arrived and my youngest refused to wear socks and her feet got BLACK so the VWL room seemed very clean after that! I have yet to stay at any Disney hotel were we ended up with black feet or socks. That is a true test for me! LOL My Dad who has managed hotels all his life thought the room was in very good shape and I consider him an expert on this matter. My parents only complaints were my Dad thought the TV was way too small and was surprised by it and my Mom complained about only having one hand towel. (Was this correct?) Other than that they seemed very impressed.
Heres some more info
It was a studio lock off, but we never heard any noise. Non smoking and it was NOT handicap. Very, very close to elevator and had an open balcony with views of the lake, woods and quiet pool, although the pool was partially blocked by trees. I was very pleased that my requests were met. I received a welcome home at the security gate, by the bellhop/valet and by the CM who checked us in. Only odd thing was she would not tell me a general area as to where our room would be. I informed our most important requests were a non smoking room with a tub. The WL looked great, I think this resort really ages well. Only things I noticed in our short time there was the bathroom in the lobby had wallpaper that needed replacing badly and by the geyser it had some trash that needed picking up. The villa section looked great. I wish we had more time to enjoy the resort, but we only had two parks days so it was basically a place to sleep. My oldest wanted to swim badly, but it was too cold. Only on the day we were leaving did it warm up enough, but alas we had to get back in time for Santa. The decorations were very lovely, but it seemed my entire family didnt really notice them as there were so many other things to see. I slept on the pull out with my 5 1/2 year old, my Mom on the bed with my 2 1/2 year old. We took an aerobed for my Dad and it fit nicely in the entry. (Hubby had to stay home and work this time.) The studio here seemed much roomier than at BCV. Am I correct here? The toilet and tub area was smaller, though. (By the way, what is up with having to reach way back for the toilet paper holder?) It was plenty of room for us to just sleep, but since my youngest is turning 3 in a couple weeks we are now graduating to two studios for our BCV trip in July with them and will now have to start buying another ticket! Boo-Hoo!!! (Add on again?) Plus, next trip with my parents will be much longer. Bell services quickly brought up our luggage that evening after we spent the day in the parks. (Our room was not ready at check in.) I even called housekeeping for four more pillows (Both my Dad and I need them.) very late at night and within minutes they brought them up. There was only one pillow in the closet. Were there supposed to be two for the pull out sofa?
Looks like Ill need to split this report up. Ill continue on with the rest later
