VWL hot tub used as........

At AK last week, I witnessed 2 little boys urinating along the side of the walkway coming from the Pangani Forest. Their parents were right there encouraging them "to go." :( I could not believe what I was seeing!!

This thread freaks me totally right out. That is just one of the many reasons why the Disney Resorts should have Adults only Pools for there guests that are 16 and over. When I go to a quiet pool I do not want a punch of screeming kids urinating in the pool.Disney needs to do something about this.

What do you think the parents of this kid do when they need to go? Think they get out of that hot tub?

This is just totally gross. I can't believe that people were in the hot tub too when she took the kid back in.

And as far as the red dye goes, I'm just glad my grandkids don't read that stuff. We were at a water park last summer and my then 5 DGS suspiciously got really really quiet and was holding himself. I turned and saw him and asked what he was doing.......he said no. So when we got to Disney in October, I told them all - red dye in Disney pools - don't get caught! They believed it! Still do!

Sometimes - you just can't stop the kids from doing it. But the adults, that's just inexcusable.

Give me a break! Don't blame the kids. WHO exactly TOLD those kids to pee in the hot tub. ADULTS! The same people you want in your own special little pool!

Gross! Note to self: Don't use the hot tub or pool at VWL! :D

It happens all the time at all resorts and all hot tubs, better include a note to yourself never to use any of them.

That is gross.

Just like the mom who had her 2 children with chicken pox at the Port Orleans pool when I was pregnant with DD #3 (1998) Her children were oozing.........my 2 girls (not quite 2 and 6 at the time) were playing in the pool with them bbefore I actually noticed it.

I told the lifeguard who in turn approached the mom and she said they were NOT contagious, plus she paid alot of money for this trip and her kids will swim!!!

2 weeks later, both DD's were covered with chicken pox!! Thanks lady!!! I was just greatful that my girls were healthy and I had already had the chickenpox so my unborn daughter was fine!!

Can't help this -

Urine is sterile, and the large volume of pool water does dilute the urea and other components greatly. Actually, I've heard that in remote villages in India, they pee on fresh wounds when there's nothing else to clean them out... :-)

See, teaching A&P does have some real world application.

This is true. It might be "gross" but it will not get you sick. Its "#2" that you have to watch out for..still parents, PLEASE don't tell your kids to pee in the pool.

Many years ago (198?) while working in a kiosk at a local shopping mall, I witnessed an elderly man walking with a young boy who was obviously in distress. What happened next made me a lifetime bottled water addict. ::yes::

The elderly man spotted the drinking fountains next to the kiosk I was working in and proceeded to lift the young man up and instructed him to urinate into the drinking fountain. :earseek:

To this day I cannot bring myself to use a "public" drinking fountain.

I think that if you want to use the hot tub, maybe using the dvc pool/hot tub only, and if you catch some kid peeing in the pool/ hot tub, i would say something to the parent and life guard. we paid into dvc and pay enough dues, to enjoy a pee free pool/ hot tub.

Calling all neighbors lets keep a watch out for the kids peeing in the pool/ hot tubs the next time we go home :wave2:

i do beleive the signs around the hot tub has 12 and up or something like that, it might even be adults only.

but that gets put under the catagory with saving chairs, people dont obey the rules/signs:teeth:

Just wanted to add again that hot tubs are for ADULTS! No need for kids swimming around the hot tub and peeing in there as if it was a kiddie pool!

Unfortunately, a lot of parents disregard the sign stating you must be accompanied by an adult if under 12 - maybe Disney should consider changing hot tub use to age 12 and above.

FTLOG, thank you! Yes, it's gross, but no, it's not going to make anyone sick. (Other than maybe barfing from the thought of it, I guess. :) )

Also, the only reason the OP knew to be grossed out is because this mom was shameless enough to say it out loud. I'm sure there are plenty of kids who pee in the pools and hottubs every day, and just don't say anything.

Hottubs, pools, restaurants, rides...Sometimes it's better not to know all the details of what goes on with some of those places. If we really saw behind the scenes in some restaurants, we wouldn't eat out. If anyone goes in any public pool, anywhere, and thinks that it's never been peed in, than they are in denial. It's just better not to think about or stay home. The only difference with what happened at the hot tub is the poster saw it and witnessed it. Most of the times, it happens without anyone knowing about it.

Yikes-I'm glad we are too modest and think we are too fat that we stay out of the pools and hot tubs.

Not to add fuel to the fire but who's to say the parents don't pee in the pool/hot tub too if they think it is ok for the kids.

I agree with those who said it that money is not indicative of class or ignorance.

The story link from above made me think how vulnerable we all are to safety concerns. It's selfishness and disrespect for the safety and well being of others. And the sad part of it is, like someone said, some people just do not get it, they think their ignorant behavior is ok, and the cycle continues.
