VWL During October?

We are planning on going back in October for the MNSSHP. We are hoping to get AKV but we'll see. I was going to book SSR but then I remember reading somewhere that VWL decorates for Halloween and has haunted hay rides. Can anyone confirm this? We will be going the last week of Oct. and have 2.5 yr old. He is really mature and already likes these type of things.

No decorations at VWL for Halloween. But Ft Wilderness has the hayride.

WL and FW are two different locations.

I'm subscribing. We're going in early Oct staying at VWL. My son will be 2.5 then, and already LOVES what he calls "the spooky part" of the Disneyland Sing Along video!! I'd love it if there were decorations at VWL!!

We were there last October and the Lodge is not decorated for Halloween. The Ft. Wilderness Campground does the hayride.

The only place I have actually seen Halloween decorations was at the MK DURING MNSSHP. They are not up during the day. Just for the party.

We were at the Lodge last Oct, even without the Halloweendecorations ,it's as beautiful as ever!!! It is so close to Magic Kingdom, we had a blast!!!! Stayed late at MNOSHP the kids were past tired and right back to the room!

The campgrounds have a lot of decorations for Halloween. It's amazing what people put up! Worth a trip just to see the decorations (take the internal bus that goes around the campground).

You can't reserve the Haunted Hayride. Tickets go on sale the day of at the kennels at FW.

We've gone on the Haunted Hayride on Halloween the last three years. Last year I sat across from the wife of the headless horseman. Then the girl who drove the wagon at the Haunted Hayride turned out to be my driver for the Christmas sleigh ride at the Lodge!

We are staying at the VWL for the first time in October as well. I am excited about having the boat directly to Magic Kingdom. We usually stay at the BWV since we can walk to EPCOT and then take the monorail to MK. This time we will take the boat to the MK and then the monorail to EPCOT!

I think this is one of the coolest resorts and can't wait to stay there! I forgot about the haunted hayride! Is there an easy way to get to the camp grounds from the VWL? Is there a charge for the Hayride? Do we need to make a reservation?

You can take a boat from the lodge to the campground. I'm not sure what the cost for the hayride is, sorry, and the tickets go on sale the day of the ride - no advance reservations. Not sure exactly why they do it that way but from my understanding they don't have trouble filling up.

I just booked October 10th to 15th at VWL. I wanted the boat ride to MK with the stroller instead of the bus for MNSSHP. With 2 kids, DD3 and DS1, thought the boat would be easier.
