VWL December 2008 - Who Will Be There?

Are you doing it as a day-by-day reservation?

Probably not because I really don't want to end up doing a split-stay. We are still relatively new to the DVC so if they don't have availability at VWL for our entire stay I'm not 100% sure what we'll do. Maybe we can get lucky enough to call today or tomorrow and get a CM that will go ahead and let us switch our entire SSR ressie over to VWL.

Well my DH just called and they have availibility for that Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday. We will call on next Tuesday, the 6th, to try again and get put on the waitlist.

I have a feeling we'll be looking at a VWL resale pretty soon.

I posted this in another thread, but will repeat it here. I finalized my ressies with MS this morning. It will be myself, DW, DS33 and DD29. I had already made ressies at 11 months for 1 studio for Dec. 21 and a 2 BR for Dec. 22-26; but I didn't have enough points to get the 2 BR for Dec. 21. My plan was to call back at 7 months (today) and hopefully get the 2 BR for the 21st and cancel the studio. Well they have no studios or 2 BR's anytime from Dec. 21-26. But they did have a 1 BR. So I got the 1 BR for the 21st. Works out the same space wise, we will just have to move on Monday the 22nd.

Now the next big question is Dining ADR's. Hopefully we should be making them in about a month and hopefully they will announce the CP schedule and dining package then also. Our big debate right now is whether to go with DDP. Also, I'm trying to decide whether to fly down or drive (10 hours). In the past this would have been a no-brainer, we'd just drive. But with the price of gas, flying enters into the picture more and more.

The final question will be tickets. DD already has an AP for then. DW and my AP's expire in June. DS does not go very often, so we'll just get him regular tickets. But DW and myself have decided to return the following Oct. of F&W, so I'll probably get us new AP's in December.

This is going to be truly a different experience for us. We've never really been away from home over Christmas but decided we wanted to do something different this year. So we're really looking forward to Christmas at WDW.

WPF, we went with the DDP while there last Christmas. With all of the "holiday surcharges", it makes it worth while (well it did to us!).
