Hi,
I've just looked on my VH online booking and the times have been changed to 11am and 7pm, they were 10.25am and 7.30pm. Has this happened to anyone else? :confused3

Yes, that's the same for me too, we have always flown at the previous times but its only half an hour etc so all is good :goodvibes

Just checked mine, and mine are still the same times 10.25 and 18.30, what dates are you flying?

yes, the same has happened to us to.
not really that mutch change, but this year we are landing at orlando international not sandford international so we will be there earlier than before.

les

Yeah we are the same. I like the idea of coming back later even if only slightly as I can sleep better on the plane.

Our flights are changed too. We fly from Manchester on the 30th July, and return on the 20th August.

It's the new A330 aeroplane rather than the Jumbo and I think the schedule change is to reflect a potential change in flight time. You'll probably find that if you look at seats you'll be on the A330 and those on old times will still be on the Jumbo.

Not sure if I'm looking forward to the new 'planes or not, sort of liked the 4 jet jumbos.

100% looking forward to the new planes here. Last time we flew Virgin was Xmas 2008, I said never again til they get new planes, the interior was worst I have seen on any plane, cracked screens, earplug sockets too big and worn to hold the jack plug, staff using tape to hold part of seats together, overhead doors broken and would not stay closed. Don't care which model plane it is its got to be better than our last few Virgin flights. Only downside is our PE seats won't be in the bubble.

Hi, thanks everyone, I just assumed that if VH changed the fight times they would let their customers know, maybe I'm just naive! :cool1:
Like a Dibber said its only 30 mins so no biggie.
We fly Tuesday 18th October and return Saturday 30th October 2011Manchester/MCO.
Thanks again :thumbsup2

It's the uncertainty around the PE that worries me. We have an iPad and Nintendo DSs loaded with entertainment so that's never really been an issue (although pausing a film will be nice, might actually see a whole one!)

When in the bubble our family of four very neatly fits in a single row and we don't bother other people and they don't bother us. The new seats are are 2-3-2 I believe and while probably bigger, I doubt there'll be dedicated cabin crew and I'd imagine there won't be a solid bulkhead separating the cabins to allow for flexible seating. We'll have to sit behind each other or have a third person sat with us in the middle section. The front half of economy will queue in PE for the toilets and there'll be no noise buffer.

I sound like a snob but they were the things that made PE worth the money for us and fancy seats and IFE are no substitute for the peace and quiet of being upstairs.

For our dates next year we've got the option of going on the later flights which will still be a Jumbo. Not decided yet as I much prefer the earlier times but that cabin looks big ont he new plane. Hmmm

If it weren't for my nervousness around flying Aer Lingus, they have Business Class seats at the same price from Dublin and I'm pretty tempted what with near flat beds etc.

They will have a lovely new Panasonic IFE, only thing is that it is touch screen. Hands up who will get the heavy fingered people sat behind them

That would be a simple choice for me, Biz class with Aer Lingus but we enjoy indirect and using the lounges

Not us, gone for back row in economy out and back row of PE return. I don't mind people reclining in my space but I can't relax reclining into someone elses space.

We have two trips booked for next year, Easter and Aug and for both return trips we wanted the later flight (more chance of the girls sleeping possibly?) and so we are on a 747 and have 'reserved' the bubble....

We didn't really want the later flights going, so I have just reserved seats on the new plane but the PE all seem to be much of a muchness :confused3

As our last three trips have been in UC, I guess we are not going to be overly happy puppies regardless of where we sit :rotfl2: but hopefully being in the bubble (if all goes to plan) for our return trips will give the girls the best chance of catching a few winks :confused3

You might want to look at Aer Lingus then, Business class for our dates was £100 more per person with an almost fully reclined bed each and immigration cleared in Dublin. I may still go for it yet, not sure what to do. I really hadn't thought I'd be looking at £1200 per person so I'm a little depressed.

We're going to do one long trip ~30 days rather than two separate ones like this year as the flights are stupid and the majority of the cost of the holiday.

Aer Lingus does sound like a good price BUT..... we just love the convenience of flying direct from MAN to MCO and this is what VA bank on :sad2:

There were some FAB UC prices from LGW to MCO for Feb next year but even the thought of getting down to LGW is enough to put me off. I wish I was a bit more adventurous, I keep saying perhaps we will try indirect when the girls are older (7 & 4 at the mo) but I think I am just using them as an excuse :rotfl:

Good luck with your decision :thumbsup2

Ali, just something else to think about is your car insurance. It is booked out in 24 hour days from when you take it. So you will need an extra day's insurance/ rental when going on an early flight and coming back on a late one. We had to do this one year.

Thanks for that :thumbsup2

Can't remember what I booked now? I do remember reading that Dollar had a policy of an hour (or more?) grace when collecting and dropping off but can't remember what I booked in the end :confused3 I will double check :thumbsup2

Can't believe I am sooooo sorted, villas booked, flights booked and cars booked for both trips :yay::woohoo:

I am sure Dollar had it in their T&C's but can't find it anymore. Maybe they stick to the times now with no grace period.

I always check the actual rental agreement document given when dollar or any car company give you with the car. This is what is legal I would imagine. The year we took a later return flight we had presumed we were covered but when looking at the document we were not. We didnt want to take the chance of driving over there with no insurance so telephoned dollar and sorted it out. It turned out that the flight home was delayed by 24 hours so still having the rental car made it easier for the bonus day we found we had.
