I;ve been looking for a rental for our next family holiday to orlando, and I have come across a listing on vrbo which seems to be a dvc rental, Its a 2 bed animal kingdom but listed as highpoint world resort. its up for $2100 per week. I unfortunatley just get a funny feeling about it and I think it might not be real. is there any way to check?

I don't want to post too much info. the english seems a bit broken and there doesn't seem to be very much info, :scared1:

I have the phone number but as I am in the uk I don't think its going to help me.

The resort is not too far from AK, but Highpoint World Resort is definitely NOT a DVC resort. I would be concerned that this is either an offsite timeshare or possibly an RCI exchange, which might be canceled by either RCI or DVC since exchanges are not allowed to be rented.

Even if it is really a reservation at AKV, I would be cautious about any rental that mentions an offsite timeshare in the listing.

Good luck with your decision.

just to update this, the listing was a fake. I just felt it was wrong, all the communication was hard work and the english was really not very good,(not that I was judging it) I had to keep emailing and asking for info, but it just didn't ring true. sounded too good to be true!!
anyway I contacted the website security and they checked it out and the listing has been cancelled.

on the downside back to finding something else, on the plus side I haven't lost all my accomodation money

Thanks for the update. Have you checked out the rent trade boards here on the Dis? They may have what you are looking for.
