VRBO experiences

My MIL is thinking about renting through VRBO for our upcoming trip, and I was just wondering about opinions/experiences that you all might have had. She's looking specifically at #6618 or #286225. Thanks!

I have used vrbo a 3 times without any problems. Its nice dealing directly with the owner.

We've had no problems with VRBO. Both of those homes are in Rolling Hills and the tax info checks out on them. The 6618 has a south facing pool and the other one has a northeast facing pool.

We've also rented through vrbo 3 times and homeway.com twice with absolutely no problems.....

VRBO is just a directory website so you aren't renting through them, but directly from the owners. We've stayed in Rolling Hills several times and loved the quiet neighborhood and fantastic location. The house we rented: www.sjsvillas.com has the same layout as the ones you are looking at. It's great for giving everyone their own space while keeping a large group close together.
You will love having your own pool!
The neighborhood is a bit older and more established but most of the owners have kept the properties up to date. The advantage to you and your MIL is that the rates are usually a bit better.
Hope you have a wonderful time, but I warn you, it will be tough to go back to hotel rooms after enjoying a pool home this close to Disney!

We just used VRBO for a rental at Myrtle Beach this summer. Wonderful experience, will use VRBO in the future. It really is up to the owner how the property is handled, but I think sometimes its better to deal with the owner than a rental agency. IMHO

We have used VRBO for Disney and other vacation stays. We have been very satisfied with our rentals. Houses were great, close to Disney. The only problem we had was with the company in charge of the maintanence to our rental property. The oven was broken when we got there. The owner emailed me back within 20 min. with info on who to call ect. The managment co. didnt get someone over to the house for 4 days and it took an additional 2 days to get it fixed. Irritating, but still house was a great price, our own pool, 10 min. to Disney and the beautiful smell of orange blossoms was in the air everytime we went out the front door! So, overall, great website!
