The Villas at Polynesian Village (that's what I assume they're going to be called) apparently are going to start selling in early-January, and will be taking reservations for the Bungalows beginning in April. This accord to DVC Central:

The bungalows at the Polynesian are tentatively slated to begin accepting guests (both cash and Disney Vacation Club) on APRIL 1. DVC sales will likely start the second week of January. In more detailed information, the bungalows will sleep 8 on one 1 King Bed, 1 Queen bed, one sleeper sofa, and two of the new TV stand foldout twin beds.

I contacted my DVC Guide, and he indicated that the Guides will be attending a training about the new Poly Villas today.

Exciting!

Interesting! I'm wondering the configuration of the bungalows now, I was thinking they'd be 2 bedrooms, but maybe not?

Maybe the king in its own bedroom. Then where would the queen/pullout sofa/2 table beds be? :scratchin

My guess; King in the master bedroom, sofa and one table bed in the living room, and queen with the other table bed in the second bedroom. Of course, that configuration means they won't be lock-offs.

Yes, I figured they wouldn't be lockoffs. Each bungalow has a plunge pool, so I don't see how those could be shared in a lock off situation!

Thank you for this information but I think Im now confused. I thought I read that VPV were only going to be all studios. Is this not correct? I sure hope Im mistaken.

Thanks so much!

The report for the bungalows is 1 King, 1 queen, 1 sleeper sofa, and 2 pull down tv stand murphy beds to make the occupancy of 8. Why they wouldn't do 2 queens in the second bedroom is another crazy decision IMO.

It's all studios and except the 20 or so over water bungalows.

Where did you get that information? I hadn't heard these details. I would have thought the second bedroom would have two queens.

Tikiman had shared a link from DVC Central on his facebook page. So still a rumor. Since AFAIK Tikiman is generally not apt to share something he doesn't have some basis for too I'm giving it a good likely hood of being correct.

The Villas at Polynesian Village (that's what I assume they're going to be called) ...

Disney sent out a notice recently that the name will be Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows - so perhaps it might be PVB.

I came across a notice intended for Disney Travel Agents and posted it in this thread last week with a few artist renderings and info about the villas - http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3358922

"The resort will include the largest Deluxe Studios at the Walt Disney World Resort. The 360 Deluxe Studios will sleep up to five Guests each and have the ability to connect to another Deluxe Studio. Plus, the new Disney Vacation Club bungalows are the first of their kind on any Disney property. The 20 bungalows will sleep up to eight Guests each in a home-like setting reminiscent of the South Pacific.

Similar to Disney Cruise Line ships and The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, the rooms will each have a bathroom separated into two areas, one with a shower and sink and the other with a sink and tub/shower. Plus, they also will have kitchenettes and enhanced storage for convenience and comfort.

And, like all Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts, rooms at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows are available for reservations when not in use by Disney Vacation Club Members. Please note there will be limited availability for the bungalows.

The additions are part of an overall renovation of the iconic resort hotel. A re-imagined Great Ceremonial House will welcome guests to a tropical destination where Disney magic meets South Seas hospitality. When complete, the resort will also include an enhanced feature pool, new food and beverage offerings, including Pineapple Lanai where guests can get their favorite Dole Whip treats, and a new Trader Sam’s Tiki lounge that will feature exotic cocktails and Polynesian-themed small plates.

The first phase of Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows is scheduled to open in 2015."

What exactly is a "plunge pool"? So each bungalow will have its own private pool? :confused3

The plunge pool is a small pool about the size of a hot tub. At the DVC Annual Meeting, Ken Potrock, the head of DVC, called it a cold water pool. I think what that means is that the pool water will rely on the ambient temperature and sun to heat the pool.

There are a few photos of the plunge pools in this article on the DVCNews.com.

I've really only seen these associate with hot tubs or saunas - a therapeutic addition. I can't quite imagine it being too appealing except during the warmest months. :confused3
