Vow Renewal for our 20th Anniversary

How early did you guys call Disney Weddings? I think an Escape wedding can't be booked until 8 months before. Did you wait until then to call?

Our 15th anniversary is Oct. 26, 2012! It's long time away, but I would love to start planning it now!

When we got married the first time we were only 20 & 21 years old. We had only been dating for 5 months and it was a whirlwind. My mom planned most of it which was nice, but I'm ready to do it my way. We are more in love everyday and he agrees that it would be wonderful in WDW! I do plan on wearing a wedding dress and going all out for this event!

Is it too early to start planning?!

In my opinion it is never to early to start planning! :) I contacted DFTW as soon as DH said he wanted to do a VR for our 20th anniversary (which will be next year). We can't book or really plan anything until August 2010 (and it is killing me to wait) but I've been doing alot of research so I'll be ready when the time comes. Plus, getting some of the prices has helped in figuring out how much to save when it does come time to pay. We'll be doing the Premier Escape pkg.

DH & I did most of the planning for our wedding and we did the whole "big" wedding thing (unfortunately we were both sick the day of our wedding). This time around we want to do it more informally and have fun. We want it to be a celebration of our love and all that we've endured the past 20 years! We never had children (couldn't due to medical reasons - though we tried and spent a fortune!) so it will be the two of us, the minister, and as many of our closests friends that want to make the trip.

for our 20th anniversary in 2008. The date was June 26, 2008. We really went all out - we had a rehearsal and Dinner at Citricos and then a Dessert Party in the Whitehall room for our 47 guests the evening before. Then we had our VR at the WP with vows that my DH wrote. Afterward we had a cocktail hour at the Tusker House and then we moved to the FOLK for a plated dinner and then they performed the show. We had Randy Chapman for our photos and Stan for our video. We had decided against the MK photo shoot but we could have done it if we had wanted it. We had a site visit almost exactly a year before our event and we signed our contract about 11 months out. We had a planning session and menu tasting in February. Everything Disney, and all of the other vendors we used did everything first class the whole way. The flowers, food, service, was perfect and I have memories and pictures that I will treasure forever.

We did the cruise for our 20th a few years ago and it was fabulous. I didn't plan on getting a full gown, but ended up doing it because how can one resist being a beautiful bride all over again...:goodvibes click on the link in my signature for more details....

We kept our renewal simple, and used the traditional vows all over again. But, we could have done anything as long as we gave them to the coordinator ahead of time.

The only thing I regret was not realizing that we could have had a photo shoot in Disney before we went on the cruise...I would have totally taken advantage of that!!

have fun planning.

Cheryl
