Could anyone give me some info. on a vow renewal ceremony. Which resorts do it, and can you just have a ceremony and that's it. We would just ask immediate family that usually go to Disney with us to attend, and our children. I was just wondering on cost, and how long it takes to set up? Thanks for any information!

I was wondering the same thing, it is just my husband and I going on this trip and thought this would be nice to do after 25 years and a near break up in the beginning of the year. This is the Disney makes it better trip :goodvibes

There are ceremony sites at several resorts, including Grand Floridian, Polynesian, WL, and the Yacht Club. You may be able to use areas of other resorts, you would need to ask when you call if you have something particular in mind.

For the vow renewal, you would need to book one of the packages, which is essentially the same as a wedding package. Escape package for smaller and simpler. Wishes package for over 10K. The Escape package does not include a reception, though you can certainly book one. The Wishes will include a reception.

With what you described, I would suggest going with an Escape Package :)

Thanks for the info. Do you know how much the Escape Package is. I don't want to pay 10K. :)

You would need to go through Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings—the individual resorts do not organize weddings and vow renewals.

Disney's Escape package starts at $4,750 for a package including the site, the cake, a limo, a violinist, and a bouquet and boutonniere. The price and process are the same for vow renewals as they are for weddings. It can be pulled together fairly quickly, so you don't need a lot of lead time.

The Swan & Dolphin offers weddings/vow renewals starting at $1,600, and if you have a military or civil service connection, you can do one at Shades of Green for $895.

Hi and welcome
We are having a VR at the Swan in May. I have booked the basic package with the Swan and added what I want onto it. The basic package includes ceremony site (West Courtyard in front of the Swan fountain)with all the seating set up, backup site in case of rain, use of a hospitality suite on the day if required, a water station set up at the ceremony site, services of my co-ordinator from planning and booking right throughout the big day, the services of two Swan employees to uncork and pour champagne and cut and serve the cake and all silverware and flatware. I have added two bottles of champagne, one of sparkling cider and five bottles of OJ (to make mimosas). The total of my package is $1880.00.
I have reserched and booked my own officiant (Rev Tim Herring - $200.00), photographer (Randy Chapman - can't remember the price but can look it up for you if you wish), cake (It's Tasty Too - $149.00 for two tiers), musician(harpist Christine MacPhail - $375.00 for over two hours), florist (Heather at Atmosphere - final package still being sorted out but will likely be around $600.00 for my cascade bouquet, DD's round bouquet, three bouts for DH and two DSs and ceremony decor that can be transferred to my reception)and hair and make-up (Patricia LeJeune - $170.00 including travel to my hotel room on the morning). I am having a limousine arranged through Karen (my planner) and this is costing $384.00 for four hours and will do several back and forth journeys. I am having 14 guests and we will follow up with a cocktail hour and dinner at Mizners lounge and Citricos at the GF.
I have been extremely pleased with all my vendors so far. I live in UK so everything is being arranged via e-mail and they have all been very quick to answer and very patient with my many questions and changes of mind!! Karen my planner, (who works for JustMarry) has been an angel and has reserched things many times for me, only to have me go my own way and book somebody I had reserched myself. She has been fine with all this and is so sweet. I can't wait to meet her in person.
I would have loved to have gone through DFTW ideally but the high prices and lack of choices over some things, forced me to look elsewhere.
I don't feel I am missing out on anything at all this way. I am right there at WDW for my VR. Randy will take photos at Swan, Boardwalk, GF and BLT (where we are staying) and I could still have characters attend if I wanted them, but won't because I can't afford it!!. The only things I am not getting is the right to book a theme-park photography session (which wasn't in the plans anyway, so is no big deal to us) and we obviously won't get the AP which comes with the Escape package from DFTW but as I have used all my available DVC points for us and our guests for this trip, the likelihood of us getting out to WDW again within the year is slim!!! So again, no biggie for us!
What I have got sorted for my VR, I am extremely happy with and it is costing me significantly less than it would have with DFTW. So, what I am saying is that there are other alternatives if a DFTW VR doesn't suit you.
Good luck with all your planning and enjoy it - I know I am having the time of my life planning ours!!

Thanks so much for all the great info. Who knew it was so expensive to do a vow renewal. My whole wedding cost 10k thirteen years ago. My how things have increased in price!

I was just getting on this section to see what I could find out about vow renewals.

Does the $4,750.00 include hotel room and park tickets or would that cost extra?

I am basically just looking for a very small ceremony. It would probably just be me, my husband and my son. Possibly, our friends and child, too if they go down as planned next year. So it would be under 10 people.

Our friends would already have their tickets and hotel reservations.

Then, we would like to stay for the week to vacation.

I am looking at November of next year.

Thanks for any info you may have

BTW.....love your signature.....changing wedding pictures are so cool :thumbsup2

No this price does not include hotel rooms and the bride and groom are required to commit to a four-night stay at a WDW resort.
It does, however include an AP for the bride and groom
I am afraid it doesn't matter whether you have just the two of you or the maximum number of guest for your location, the price stays the same!!

Oh okay

Well, having an AP would be nice at least.

We would stay for at least 5 nights, so that would not be a big deal.

Can you pick any hotel to have a vow renewal at or is there is a list somewhere of the only places allowed?

Thanks
