i never really had a problem with ppl dating or the boy meet girl rooms on vmk its the boy meet boy or girl meet girl rooms bc i think it is things like that, that influence's our youth to just wrong ideas about life i am glad that they did some thing about it but why couldnt they just ban the phraze
"Boy/girl meet boy/girl " instead of words that are used on a day to day bassis

Yeah, I do think it's rather silly that "taken" is still allowed, but you can't say "meet" or "pick." Sheesh, why don't they just do what some other games have done, and use a predetermined set of phrases that you can pick from so that it avoids this whole mess altogether.

there are a ton of "boy meet girl" rooms right now guess they let the words back in. gee, i was so worried about not finding my "true glove" on vmk. with these rooms back, my fears of no longer having middle school boys ask me if i'm taken and freaking out when i say i'm a mother to two and don't do taken can be put to rest. sigh. i don't like them taking those words out, but i really don't like these rooms or the "bay be" ones. oh well. can't make everyone happy!

LOL! Just had a funny (and creepy) experience with taken

Standing infront of walt statue and girl walk up:

Me: Walt, you are awesome
Girl: Got that right, he made everything
Me:Exactly. and yet, i don't think he would have wanted taken in VMK
Girl: True

I get a message saying: Are you taken?

Yeah, I do think it's rather silly that "taken" is still allowed, but you can't say "meet" or "pick." Sheesh, why don't they just do what some other games have done, and use a predetermined set of phrases that you can pick from so that it avoids this whole mess altogether.

its true that it would ovoid the mess but what fun wold that be?
i mean i know that i my self would leave vmk and or would have ever started playing it if all it had wa a predetermend listand another thing i forgot mention is all this Bay be Crap! all it does is make me mad bc if they are smart enough to type like a bay be then it is obvious that they are not little and are just looking for free my own person opinion on how to solve all this is make a program that edits not only words but entire phrazes and combination of words now this i would love to see. now i would not even try to eleminate the whole boy friend girl friend thing bc no matter what you ppl will do that besides it makes the game more intersting and i know many ppl who are only on there to see ppl and talk and date and do for each other bc they simply like to and possibly are unable to in real life.

i mean i am happy they did something about that boy meet boy thing but i am not happy with the way they did it

I am very happy with it. I am happy with the way they are doing things and yeah there are some glitches but that will be worked out in time. This is a major step for staff to try and handle. Give them a little bit of time to work things out and inform players who do not read the newsletter. I do feel sorry for them in a way. This adds more reports to an already overwhelming amount they get. I seriously hope for their own sanity they get some help. In the mean time try and understand that this is a very fine line they are walking. Go too overboard and they get in trouble.. too soft and they will get walked on.
I have already been witness to the back lash of them allowing the same couple rooms. Many players are abusing the word "gray". I know they said it before but now it seems like every kid who gets angry lashes out and calls the other player gray. Not only is this disturbing the way they so loosely use the term but I feel bad for anyone who really has that lifestyle.

I do hope they eliminate the whole taken thing and here's why (the same explaination I gave my own son). VMK is advertised as "Bring the fun of Disney home with you". Not one single time when I walked down Main street in WDW did any strangers come up to me, my DH, or kids and ask them if they were taken. Not once. Can you imagine how creepy that would be to have people regardless of their own age or yours ask you if your taken? It doesn't happen there and it should not happen online either.
Just the thought of that happening in real life creeps me out. But what many fail to realize is that the other person/player is real. And there is a 90 percent chance they are not your own age. They could be much younger than you or much older (high school kids and elementary kids dating ) see how thats wrong? So when VMK says "bring the magic of Disney home with you" I dont want it to include the thought of my kids being expossed to online dating service with a Disney tag on it. Just my own opinion as a mom, but I know many people who feel the same way.

Hahaha!!! I'm right with you there. Once, maybe 8-12 months ago, I was on Main Street with VMK_Willa and a player asked if taken was against VMK values and her reponse was very similar. "You don't do taken at the parks, why do it here. It's not safe."

I do Agree with you in saying that its not right for highschool kids to be dating ppl in the elemenary school but ppl do, or at least should not know what school level that person is in since that is against vmk values. in any place where there are many ppl things like this will happen. i believe it to be imperfect human nature for ppl to start to liking eachother and start dating. i dont like all that walking right up to you and asking " are you atken " stuff that i believe to be something that the younger ppl do bc they dont get the true meaning of it. Really the only way i see the staff getting ride of this is to have a preset list of phrzes that you can choose from but i really hope it Never comes to this bc i know that i myself and many others would no longer play the game if it had to come to that and even if the staff does do this ppl will still find a way around it bc it is in human nature to get out or figure out ways to beat the system

my sugjestion to vmk staff is not to block out certain words but entire prazes Ex: Good praze - hi mice to MEET you then

Bad phraze - Boy MEET Girl room


if it was done this way ppl could still say what they want but not any thing against vmk values
