I have reservations for Vistana Villages in May and am able to receive a $100.00 rebate if I attend a timeshare presentation. Has anyone ever attended one of Vistana's timeshare presentations and if so, what can I expect?

....about how much did you pay for your stay at the Vistana Villages?? They look extremely nice and I'm considering staying there a couple times this year for weekend getaways since the rates are so good. The reason I ask what rate you got is because you may want to check out one of these options:
1) Sign up for Starwoods Preferred Guest program and get 35% off as well as points for free stays, upgrades, etc. Dates in may the rate ran from $102-$167 depending on room type.
2) The Florida Travel guide available at local McDonalds has coupons for villas at $99 per night!

Both of these options require no timeshare presentation. I have never been to a timeshare presentation through this company, but I've heard, like other companies, they are quite high pressure and usually run over on time. Just figured I'd post these two deals in case you didn't know about them.

Dh got us suckered into a timeshare presentation at Orange Lake Golf Resort in order to get cheap MK tickets. I warn you the sell is very hard but we were almost tempted because the place was so beautiful. If you were in the market for a timeshare you can always get a second hand one for half the price or less. There are a lot of real estate offices in Orlando selling them. After the rep was done showing us around and it was time to talk money, once he realized we didn't really want it he got his boss to try and persuade us. When that didn't work either yet another boss was brought in. When that failed the facade of bonhomie faded pretty fast. You can also do a search on the internet. Just enter "timeshare" and all kinds of websites pop up giving you the lowdown. It took us 3 hours to get out of the place and we're not particularly meek or mild so be warned.

We did that one last year and didn't have any problems. Yes, there is some pressure -these are sales people. However, our salesperson was very nice. When we declined he moved on. What we try to do is to schedule the very first presentation of the day. That way when we decline, there are lots more customers for our salesperson to go on to.
