Vista Cay with Thomas Cook ?

Hello !
I am planning our first trip to Florida I am so nervous .. I have read lots of reviews and been to different travel agents for quotes.
I have found a good deal with Thomas Cook staying in the Vista Cay I asked if they book direct with millenium management and the dont :-( most of the poor reviews were booked independantly. I have told theres a TC rep present for any problems but how much power do they have ? what if the appartment has problems ? maybe they would not be able to move us if needed ? would they be quick to help with repairs / problems ? what if its the middle of the night and we need assistance ? how about we have cockroaches or bedbugs ? I am very wary as I am going away alone with my 5 kids so I need to know any problems will be resolved...
Also is the gated community safe ? Im not sure about not having a lock on my door.
I have my deposit and I am all ready to book tomorrow as theres only a couple of appartments left .. am I worrying for nothing ?
Any help would be great !
