Not sure if this is even where I should post this but in the past, we have often enjoyed visiting other resorts in the evenings and relaxing with a drink in the lounge...particularly animal kingdom lodge or the boardwalk. Are we still able to do that these days or do we have to have a dining reservation to get in due to limited capacity. Just trying to figure out how to plan if we want to visit another resort on our upcoming trip.

No problem if you arrive via WDW transportation. But if coming in by car (includes uber/Lyft/etc.) you will need an ADR.

As long as you arrive via Disney transportation or by walking, there are no restrictions. If you're driving your own car, you may or may not be allowed in without an ADR, due to limited parking availability. AKL isn't such a problem, but Boardwalk and other near-park resorts are more restricted due to people wanting to park there and then visit the park. After parks close you might find it easier to enter without an ADR.

Ok...what if we did a mobile order for boardwalk bakery or Sanaa to go...do you think security would let us in to go pick up an order? Not trying to beat the system, just trying to find a way to get some of our favorite things during these unusual times. Better to know what to expect now rather than be disappointed later 😉

This has been tried many times and reported on these boards. Some people were successful, others were out of luck and had to waste a lot of vacation time trying to get refunds (you are charged when you place the order, not when you pick it up).

Remember, resort transportation includes the Disney springs buses. So you can drive to DS and take the bus to the resort and back. A bit time consuming but foolproof.

Thanks for the info...we probably won’t want to risk it then and will just make adr if we can for the resorts we really want to visit!
