We are staying at AoA, but are going to 1900 Park Fare one evening. We planned to eat there, explore a bit, then go to the Poly to watch fireworks from the beach (I was told it has a better view than the GF).

I know people visit other resorts for various reasons. (not just to go to dinner). If you do so, where do you like to go and what do you do while you are there?

Pin trade at the gift shops, try a sweet treat if they specialize in one.

We either do the monorail loop stopping at all three hotels or the Boardwalk area with YC, BC and BW.

We visit other resorts often and we usually eat and walk around the grounds. We'll shop at their store, hang out in the lobby, especially at the GF.

The view of the fireworks is better at the Poly. Last year we went there and sat on the beach and watched the movie they were playing then watched the electrical water pageant followed by the fireworks. It was fantastic!

We also spent an early evening at POFQ and sampled a few beignets, walked their groounds and hopped on the boat to DtD. One day we drove over to CBR to look around. We shopped and took some photos and enjoyed the atmosphere. That night we went to the WL to try their S'mores cupcake. We bought a couple and ate them in the lobby. Then we walked over to their beach area where they were toasting marshmallows by a campfire. In the past we have visited FW and did the chip and dale sing along followed by S'mores and a movie. That was great! We also like to go to the CR to rent a boat. That marina is our favorite. All the resorts have something great to offer but the best has to be AKL

Sometimes we hang out on the beach. Other times we just wander around. On one trip we caught part of Bedknobs & Broomsticks on the beach at the Yacht/Beach Club.
At the Boardwalk Inn, I purposefully sought out the Garden Suites. They were just as charming in person as in pictures. *sigh*

Lots of people like to resort hop during the holidays to see all the Christmas decorations.

Most of the time, we go for a meal, and look around while we wait.

We also spent an early evening at POFQ and sampled a few beignets, walked their groounds and hopped on the boat to DtD.:

OK, so you can take the boat from DTD? I would love to do this! I have always wanted to try a beignet. Since I have never gone to New Orleans, this is the closest I will get for now. We plan to go to DTD at least 1x if not 2x, so this would be the perfect time to go over there.

We also like to walk around the grounds of other resorts and check out their shops and see the sights. If we're eating at another resort we usually head over early to see what the resort has to offer. It's a good way to scope out future resorts to stay at as well (although we always end up at the Poly :rolleyes1).

We love to visit resorts. We usually plan a dinner at one like OP. GF and Poly are must dos for my family. At GF, I love to listen to the orchestra in the lobby or the bar. I could do that over and over again. We all love to pin trade so that is something we do at the resorts. We look around, pin trade and hang out at the places we like (beach at Poly, lobby/bar at GF). Have a great time. It soundls like a lovely evening.:goodvibes

my sister and I take a day by ourselves and go to each resort and shop in the gift shops. there are not as many different things or unusual things as they used to be but we still try

Pool hop, of course.

(sorry, I couldn't help it. I'll slap myself on the wrist for being bad)

We've visited several resorts while dining before but this year we are going to visit most of them and see the Christmas decorations! We'll probably take the monorail from MK and see the monorail resorts, take the boat from MK to WL, take the boat from DTD to PoR and PoFW, and walk from Epcot to the BW/BC. We'll have our car, so we'll probably drive to AKL, CBR, CSR.

Resort hopping is one of my most favorite things to do on a disney trip...probably bc when i was younger it is how my dad started every trip and i grew to enjoy it so much. One of my favorite things to do is sit in the lobby of the moderate and deluxe resorts and just take in the sites and sounds. Those resorts are incredible. 2 of my favorites besides the obvious (Polynesian and Grand floridian) are AKL and WL. The craftsmanship and detail is unbelievable and those resorts are worth the trip just for that...but then there are animals and a geyser or fire pits! i mean the options are endless! Lastly, one of my fav things to do at the resorts is find hidden mickey's! if you dont have the book, get it and just pick some that you want to find! It is a good way to explore and have a lot of fun!

I go the week after Thanksgiving every year, so I catch the Christmas decorations.

I also stay at POR, so it is very convenient to end the day at a resort, take the bus back to DTD and walk over to the boat dock and take the water taxi back to the resort. Since the taxis run every ten minutes in the evening, you are never waiting long to catch the next one.

I love walking through the shops and catching a drink at the bar. I usually end the evening with dinner and dessert. I also linger in some of the lobbies that have seating - BW, WL, and GF are my favorite. My dream is to someday be able to stay at the BW - definately for my retirement.

One year, I did an all-resorts, no parks solo trip and it was one of the best trips ever.

I like checking out other resorts.. I enjoy walking around and checking out the theme of the resort. I like to check out the pool as well. If we get hungry during our little resort hopping, then we would eat at their food court if there are any. We would also check out the stores, to see if there's anything there that is not at my resort. :)
