I am going soon on a vacation however I am not staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge. Are non-guests allowed to visit? I'm not going to be using the pool so I didn't put this in the pool-hopping thread, but I saw that there is a nice exhibit behind the resort and I was wondering if I would be allowed to visit it if I'm staying at another resort.

Yes, absolutely! No pool hopping, as you already know. And I think AKL has one tour/experience exclusively for guests there. But otherwise it's completely open to all.

Yes you can visit all of the different resorts to explore, eat, shop. The only thing you can not do, as you mentioned is pool hop and also park in the regular resort lot and go to a theme park

Thanks. I assume the ride is guests-only, then? From the looks of the pictures the exhibit I mentioned earlier is the same anyways.

I saw a picture with a Kilimanjaro Safari-like ride. It could have been a misplaced photo of Kilimanjaro Safaris though.

Ah...I see. I know a tour was mentioned above, but don't know if that is what you saw, or if it was a picture of Kilimanjaro Safari. I also don't know anything about any tours AKL has for guests as I have never stayed there. I'm sure you will enjoy spending time at the resort. It really is beautiful. Jiko is a great restaurant if you are there during dinner.

Yes! It's a great resort to visit. There is so much to see, between the artwork and animals. I'd recommend booking an ADR at one of the restaurants and wondering around. Be sure to go outside to see the animals. There are guides outside to assist your. If you've no time for a sit-down, Mara has great counter service.

The tour that you are referring to is the Wanyama Safari. It is a tour that includes a ride around all of the savannah's in an open back truck, along with two guides, and then finishes up with dinner at Jiko, the signature restaurant at the AKL. I don't know if it's limited to guests at the AKL, but doing a search for "wanyama safari" will give you the details.

Wanyama Safari is limited only to guests at AKL and AKV, although I think CL guests from other resorts are also permitted.

akl is a lovely place to visit! we stayed there only once but have visited on a few trips. their counter service restaurant is great, as are both of their table service restaurants. they have a wonderful gift shop. if you go all the way through the lobby and out the "back" there are several animal viewing areas out there with very knowledgeable CM's working that can tell you everything you could ever want to know. the pool area also has flamingoes and a really cool animal viewing area which is also staffed with a very knowledgeable CM (this animal viewing area is actually my favorite). but my absolute new favorite thing to do is spend some time at the bar, victoria falls. it is a terrific ambience.
