Unfortunately, I didn't find TOO much that I simply had to have, and a few things that I know used to be there that I wanted were gone. I managed to get out of there with just three things... the book that's in the background of these shots... a Vivitar 55mm F2.8 1:1 macro screw-mount lens...

...I used the Vivitar to get the shot of the final trinket.

That's one of those old WDW lens caps that you hear talk of occasionally on my 50mm F1.4, my only lens that takes a 49mm cap. I'm not sure that I'd ever actually seen one before, and there it was, hanging on the wall. I couldn't just leave it there! :)

All in all, not too bad. The Vivitar seems to perform quite well, and it's nice to finally have a lens that will focus closer than 1:4! And all together, I managed to get out of there less than $80 lighter. Not a bad day's shopping, I'd say.

Oh that sounds like a fun shop!! How did you find something like that?

Check your yellow pages... I'm sure these don't exist everywhere, this is kind of unique little hole in the wall in a run-down old building downtown. (Stairs like you're climbing a cliff, but I wouldn't trust the elevator!) Run by an aging proprietor, and I don't think that it's possible to make a regular living running the shop - it's mostly pretty specialized stuff. But there's quite a collection of real oddball stuff, lots of medium and large format stuff, lots of real odd stuff.
