I have a question about this too. The app says that you can get in line from home or from your hotel. Has anyone tried that? We live fifteen minutes away. We used to be annual passholders. And we missed ROR because we were waiting for all our kids to come home from college in the summer of 2020. Too bad for us. So we can't even get to Web Slingers yet. We just want to ride ROR. So we are trying to figure out how early we need to get there. But with a ticket and a reservation for a particular day, can we get in line from home? Thanks in advance if anyone knows the answer, I guess I could call over there. But I am looking for someone with experience.

There are two different boarding group times for RotR and WS at 7am and 12pm noon.

For the 7am BG, you can go for them from home/hotel and you don't have to be at the park. You do need a valid reservation for Disneyland as your starting park for RotR or DCA for WS.

At 12pm noon BG, it's different. You already need to have entered the parks. You don't have to stay there but you need to have been checked in there for the noon BG.

To clarify, if you start your day at DIsneyland, and you want to try for Web Slingers at noon, you simply have to be scanned into Disneyland and have a park hopper. You can't park hop until 1pm, but you can still get a WS BG at noon.
