I consider myself a loyal Virgin Atlantic flyer, but after some searching I've found that the flights for my next planned trip to MCO are considerably different between Virgin and BA.

£2248pp from Virgin
£975pp from BA

At those prices I really have to think about possibly flying BA rather than Virgin.

Now I've flown VA UC so I know how amazing it is, and as far as I can see, BA's business class is sort of in between Virgin's PE and UC, but never having flown BA business class I can't really compare.

I'm not looking to fly Virgin PE So it's Business or good old Economy.

So is there someone here that could give a comparison? Is it worth flying BA given the price difference?

At those prices I would fly BA.

However BAs booking engine isnt very clear - just wanted to double check it wasn't the one leg fare? :goodvibes

I think it was the full fare but it's been so long since I've used the BA website I'll go and double check... :)

EDIT:

Doh!

You're right, I forgot to click through to get the total. It's £1,949.30

Still cheaper but not enough to jump ship to BA.

Sorry guys, bit of a school girl error there. So used to just going straight to Virgin...

i've done that too.....i get all excited and then.....

i got an email offer from BA and it was soooo low....but it turned out to be for one way....i was so annoyed that they got my hopes up that way.. :)

I may be biased as I work for BA, but I'm sure that BA Club World is every bit as good as, if not better than VA Upper Class. The Upper Class cabin looks quite cramped and not as well laid out as BA's. Club World is a fantastic way to travel but, as I say, I may be slightly biased.

Sorry but I do think that bias is slipping in here as you said. Just by looking at the layouts of VA UC compared to club world you can see that UC is more roomy.

But to use your expression, I'm bias. :)

I would say there is not much difference seat space wise - but of course on the orlando route BA/VA will use differing aircraft so the actual cabin may be bigger on VA if its the 747.

VA also has the bar area of course - which BA doesnt.

I personally dont think there is much difference in either product - UC is pretty much the equivalent of Business Class on other airlines - although strangely I have often noticed more children in UC than on BA CW.

I have flown both UC and BA club world. Not much difference in seats but UC cabin much nicer. Facilities ie toilets etc also nicer. UC cant be compared to most airlines first class but its certainly much nicer than business. Agree with what you say about children but suspect this has more to do with the route than the airline/cabin!
