We each have enough points to book reward flights for the both of us in PE (to New York, and then use a cheaper US carrier like JetBlue to fly on to Orlando).

Do we each have to book seperately? Or can we combine our points? I would really like this to be a joint booking, but not sure how it works.

Also, we have enough points to fly direct to Orlando, but that would be in economy rather than PE. Is it possible to buy those rewards seats and book an upgrade to PE straight away? And any idea how much extra that would be?

I'm pretty sure that points can't be combined.

I'm also pretty sure that you cannot upgrade reward flights. In fact, i'm 99.9% positive on that. I'm sure someone will confirm that soon tho.

Sorry :guilty:

Points can't be combined but, if you want to make the booking using points from each of your accounts, you can do it if you have set up authorisation for one of the accounts to be operated by the other person.

Sorry, that sounds complicated! It isn't - this is how it works - My DH has authorised me to operate his FC account so, when I made M+M flight bookings the other day, I was able to ask them to take the miles from both my account and DH's account. My DH had to contact VA initially to get it set up like that.

You can not upgrade with the reward flights. When we used some of our reward miles we had two separate bookings. They make sure that the two bookings are together and you will sit together. We had two separate booking references. You can still book your seats online.

you can book the flights together just tell the call centre you want to use points from both accounts and you have enough in each to do the flights. you will boht have to be there. They can link two bookings anyway so it wont be a problem

You cant buy a reward flight and then upgrade it using money.

So if we wanted to book an UC reward flight and both had the 100000 points is it right I would need to call VA and have both of us here, as online it would only take my points even though Nathan is the second passenger and has enough points of his own?

Claire ;)

yes I used to do it all the time when I worked for them, as long as you are both there to authorise the use of the miles form the accounts

Or get Nathan to have a note added to his membership file that says you are authorised to use his miles on his behalf - that's what DH and have done so that I can make bookings whether DH is here or not (he trusts me! ;) )

I just checked PE miles + money and get 15000 miles + 1500 pounds. How do i know if this is a good price?
