I booked a while ago with VH - something I don't normally do - but I had some Tesco vouchers to use.

I booked a villa with them at Windsor Hills - as I have stayed there before (independently) and like where it is.

Have now recieved a letter from VH stating that the villa facilities have changed and will no longer feature hot tubs, BBQ, flat screen TV, internet access etc.

Whilst not a problem - reading between the lines - it seems that they may have changed supplier to one where the furnishings standard won't be as high:confused3 Has anybody come across this with VH - or any thoughts? has anyone stayed in a villa with Virgin?

Perhaps next they'll tell me I have a seat on the plane - but in the cargo area!!:laughing:
 
i haven't any experience of VH villas, but if it were me, I would be asking for a refund of sorts, as surely you have booked a certain grade of villa and are now been given less.

Maybe also ask on PTS, as quite a few people over there have stayed at VH villas.
 

Did you get sorted? Check your VH fine print. Usually they have something in there to protect them in case they have to provide something alternate for any aspect of your booking, but depending what it is, they often promise to provide something of equal or greater quality. Can't find my VH brochure when I need it or I would check for you.
 
I didn't have a brochure and the holiday confirmation just says 4 br villa with pool heat. Will post letter to them tomorrow - I'm sure it will take a week or so before I get a reply.

The specification for your villas reads

The 4 and 5 bed houses are furnished to a very high standardand feature a privateswimming pool/hot tub, screened in furnished sun deck and barbeque------

There are also flat screen TV's, PS2's and I-phone i-home docking stations in every room, wireless internet access, ample seating and at least 2 bathrooms.

From looking in the book you have chosen one of thir most expensive villas, so I think some sort of refund must be given.

I can't type out the small print from the back of the broucher, as I can't see it, without my reading glasses, but if you go on line all the info will be there.

I did a dummy holiday booking on the internet - and they now have the disclaimer on there about the change to accomodation.

Am I likely to get anything back? Will have to see - but I'm sure they cover all the bases:sad1:

I've received what I think is an identical letter to Mrs D's and have sent a polite questioning email to Customer Services.

If I get anything back I'll let people know, as this obviously isn't a one off.
 
I too got this letter. I emailed them the same day - using the frequent virgin email address. They replied within 48 hours, declining my request for compensation.

Their email stated that the details were based on only 1 of their villas and did not represent them all, it may be that i get a hot tub and / or some of the other items but they are not guranteed and can be purchased locally!!!!

I am tempted to push for compensation as i feel i paid and booked a high standard villa, and now have a more basic villa. But am concerned this will mean i will definately get a basic villa!

I am interested to see how everyone else deals with this.

If anybody manages to get any further we will have to report back - no doubt they have a standard letter to reply. Are they saying then, that they misrepresented the accommodation in the brochure then :confused3
