virgin holidays transfers

Hi , sure I read in a trip report that someone on a V H was transferred to their disney resort by disneys M E. Anyone know if this is the norm now or just a one off. We are using the next day pick up again this year, (even though we had to wait over an hour last year for the only other couple on our pick up to arrive, positive they were on the 2nd flight).

What you need to do is contact VH and tell them you need the disney reservation number, if they query you tell them that you need it to make adr's then use that number to book the dme, there is a way to do it online but can't remember how. That is how I have done it for this year anyway.

When I came home two years ago, the Virgin bus was late and the DME driver took us to the airport cos he said we were entitled to use DME. I'm not bothered particularly about having my luggage taken for me, but I'm curious too to know if Virgin are still running their own buses or hitchiking with DME.

We are booked with VH and booked magical express direct.You can access it through the walt disney official website.You fill out a form and they send all the details about 4 weeks before you go.As virgin transfers are free I didn't bother to tell them I was using magical express the first time we went but this time I just said we didn't want transfers.You can also book magical express when you get to MCO but they WON'T take your bags to the accomodation so collect your bags as normal.(which you will have to do anyway as the ME desk is on the way out.Virgin as far as I know use mears to transfer you to the hotels.

Sorry to hijack but we want to keep our own luggage (arrive late and won't want to be woken) so is there any benefit in doing ME or the VH transfer?

I would definatley do the ME just for the experienceThey play WDW dvd which gets you in the mood,plus I think virgin use mears now not there own buses(I could be wrong on that one),plus you will go direct to your hotel or maybe have a stop at another Disney resort.We are taking our bags on the coach this time as we don't get into orlando till 17.30 ish so will be about 19.00 when we get to hotel and don't want to have to wait till 23.00+ for our luggage .You can book online through WDW official site or book when you get there.Its well worth it honest

VH were very keen to get me to do the Magical Express, and as crabbie says above, you get a website page to populate with your details

I'd still stick with ME personally - there are a maximum number of stops at resorts before your's (if you are the last drop off), whereas I think VH transfers can cover quite a few more.
